  • Puddles Mom is Missing from the Hurricane

Puddles mom lives in Punta Gorda in a manufactured home park. A friend of hers called this morning and said that the weather got bad so fast that she was afraid to drive.

The airport in Punta Gorda was devistated and she was only blocks away.

    She lives in Lakewood Village.

Our TV stations in Tampa dont cover Punta Gorda, so they are not being specific about which exact communities are destroyed.

If anyone lives closer to that area, please watch TV and post if Lakewood Village is mentioned.

We are thinking of driving down there (3hrs) but we don't even think we can get close to the area.

Im doing searches and watching all the networks for you bro. This is the latest in in Punta Gorda:

Im sorry if its all bad news but im just going to keep you updated with everything I find.

I just heard that there were at least 100 DOA's (Dead on arrival) at the hospitol that alot of them have been taken too. That makes it worse then Andrew in terms of death.

"The death toll rose Saturday, as a county official confirmed additional deaths at a mobile home park in Punta Gorda, and hundreds of people missing. Three other deaths were confirmed earlier. More than a million utility customers lose power.

          — In Charlotte County, which includes Punta Gorda: Three hospitals out of service because of damage. Emergency Operations Center not operational. Two shelters significantly damaged. Sheriff's office destroyed. Seven fire stations destroyed. Numerous trailer homes destroyed."

That's it. I can't take it anymore. I'm done reading these hurricane threads. Every post is more bad news and more death. Kind of shows how much we're taking for granted right now. Poor puddles and stromba. :(

I hope that she is OK and it's just a communications issue. My heart is with you Puddles and Stromba.

Sounds bad. I am praying for your Mom Mrs.P. I hope she is OK and just can't get through on the phone or something.
