the rings are so hard to do... i was at the gym that had them last year and all us girls got up there and just tried to hold ourselves up in a front support posisition with our legs toward the floor and none of us could keep the rings steady, they kind of swing... I can't imagine doing what the men do on those...

Actually, Jason didn't do that well on rings! He wasn't holding his skills as long as needed to score well! He did however do very well on P-bars, after all, he has a skill named after him called the Gatson!Originally posted by redsquirrel
Yeah, that guy did really well.
US got silver in that event. First time in like 20 something years.

That's right. He fucked up on the rings. Came through when they needed him on the parallel bars. I mixed it up. They had actually wanted to use one of the hamm brothers in his place for the rings, paul I think. Either or, silver is damn good.Originally posted by bad14u

Freaked me out when I seen one young looking kid (very distinct face) do a floor exercise was putting on his jacket and in 5 seconds later he was on another routine..
Me and my g/f were like WTF!!!
I said he's got to have a twin brother she was like no...
After the exercise his twin congratulated him than I knew.

Yea, my girl was like, "he just went already." No that's his brother. The reason we have silver is cause those two were consistent.Originally posted by DangerousGround

Yes! IT'S SO amazing how far this sport has come even since I was in HS (1993). Those girls are so far and few and they hardly ever make a mistake. At the gym my daughter goes to there is a 16 year old who is amazing... she does double backs on floor and layouts on the beam. If she was back in time in 1992 she could have gone to the Olympics and competed... now she is still so far away. It still amazes me.Originally posted by bad14u
Did you watch the girls last night?

These guys can't afford to have big legs. The legs weigh a trememndous amount and doing what they do, it's not important to have alot of leg strength.
Too bad most of those guys are only 5'6'' and under. I am willing to bet they only weigh about 140-150 at the most.
