Maybe I have too much time on my hands, but lately I want to just go see a Psychic and get a reading done. Just to see.
Have any of you done this? If so how accurate do you think this really is. I have looked into the women that does this around my area, she is only about an hours drive away. That and its only $20. Ughm. Do I really want to waste my money????

There is a woman here n town that does that shit! A lady I know went to see her and the so called psychic keeps telling her that she needs to keep coming back! Everytime that she goes back she is told to bring back more money or a piece of jewelry...that these things are troubling her! She never gets the jewelry back or the money and over the years has given this psychic around $50,000 or more! IMO it is a scam!

You asked "how acurrate do you think this is"

I dont know, but Carl Sagan's Baloney Tester can help as a starting point if you would like to run your own experiment.

http://www.carlsagan.com/ then click on Carl Sagan at the top and then on Baloney Tester

Carl Sagan was a founder of SETI, and one of the most wonderful, smartest people to ever live.

            Good Luck

I think there are some that are for real and mostly the rest are scammers. My g/f knows how to read palms. Even though I don't believe it, it is kind of interesting to hear it though. Supposedly there is a split in my life line where one split keeps going on farther and the other one stops short. Supposedly these mean paths in your life. I guess if I make the wrong decision sometime in life, my life ends at the short line, otherwise it goes on like the long line. Makes me wonder if this correctional officer move is going to be the right decision.

Juice, Sagan is awesome when it comes to clear thought and well defined arguments.

Some common fallacies when it comes to examining data of this sort:

Observational selection (counting the hits and forgetting the misses).

Statistics of small numbers (such as drawing conclusions from inadequate sample sizes).

Non sequitur - "it does not follow" - the logic falls down.

                  Also remember:

It is testable? Can others duplicate the experiment and get the same result?

Occam's razor - if there are two hypothesis that explain the data equally, we'll choose the simpler.

                  And most important:

Any number times infinity is infinity. If it has happenned in the past, it will happen again. Given that time is infinite.

Any prediction (given that it has happened before), given enough time, will come true.

                  Good Luck

hey but what else can she tell u about ur hand bro. My girl had her read a few years back before i met her, and some chick told her something were gonna happen in her life, and she tells me that so far they have. Also that her life would be short, im hoping its not what they told her. But she will live a hppy life though.

Im thinking to myself how can one read ur life or whats gonna happen. The lines in people hands are there because of how one bends, grips the hand. I dont believe that

I would have called BS but she showed me her hand and the splits she had in her life line. She has a lot, but then she also has had a lot of near death experiences, which is wierd but is probably coincidence. I don't know, i'm not totally sold, but it does have me thinking though.

Just for fun, get your g/f to read the palms totally backwards. The results of sucess will be exactly the same.

Please check a psicop website. These are MENSA scientist who deal with psuedo-science issues, but in a way that we can all understand.

scroll down to "Palm-Reading" and then tell me if this rings true.

Then why don't I have all the splits like she does? Especially gripping a bar for almost an hour everyday I think I would at least have a few rather than just one.

There are about ten thousand reasons why you can have a line on your hand. For me, the idea that your entire destiny is written on your hand and thats why the lines are there is just not the most likely explanation.

I'm not saying that's its not true. Just given the possibilities not the most likely answer.
