  • Found out problem with constant headaches

I recently posted about an ongoing headache that I had 24/7 for several weeks. Based on many suggestions from the board, I stopped taking certain supplements, etc., actually I stopped any and all supplements, and gear too. After a week, there was no let up. As I stated in the earlier post, the headache felt like a sinus infection, as I have had problems for many years with allergies, however, usually with a sinus infection, I would have a very stuffy nose, plus, some very ugly nasal discharges. This time the only symptoms I had was the headache. But, I had a deviated septum repaired in January and didn't take into account that I had much clearer nasal passages and better drainage. Well, I knew something was very wrong, so I was going to start eliminating possibilities, with an MRI last on the list. First stop was a local Eye, Nose and Throat Dr. He did an endoscope procedure and took a sample of my inner nose to do a culture. Guess what, the test came back and I have a Strep infection in my sinus cavities--THAT'S where all the pain was coming from!! A damn Strep infection!!! I would have never thought it was my sinuses, but as I said earlier, I had to start somewhere eliminating things. He put me on a very potent antibotic--Clindamycin, 30mgs. 3x/day for 10 days. Can have some really bad sides, but I have to do it. A Strep infection in the sinuses is too close to your brain to take chances. Anyway, does anyone think I can get back on gear while taking the antibotic without causing any problems. 400mgs. Enanthate/week, 20mgs. Anavar/Day, 1/2mg. Arimidex EOD. So if any of you have a headache for more than a week or so, around the clock, don't be a dumbass like me and think you know what it ISN'T, get it everything checked out anyway. BB

Don't have a PhD, but IMO I wouldn't take anything in case it may not mix well...like you said earlier, way too close for comfort bro

Mate, don't take any gear, last thing you want to do is interfere with the healing process. Be patient, and resume once the infection is cleared....

and be sure to take the antibiotics all 10 days even though you will be feeling much better before the 10 days are up. That is really necessary to kill every one of the nasty bugs so that the bugs don't develop resistance to the antibiotics.

Lay off for a bit. Your body needs to fignt the infection first. How long is the script for? 7 days?

3x/day for 10 days. I'm now wondering if I should still workout while the medication does its work. Maybe just light stuff and some easy cardio. BB

I would take it easy on everything. your body needs all its defenses at this moment to fight the infection. Your training shouldn't lose much with a few days off.

dont lift too hard, just maintain.
body needs to fight infection so healing muscles will not be top priority for your immune system.

Just take it easy and let yourself mend. Infections can be serious so follow the doctors orders! Hope you feel better quickly.

I had sinus surgery 10 yrs. ago for a deviated septum, polyps, and to enlarge the curly bone in one of the sinus cavities. My ENT dr. had me do sinus flushes and suggested that I do them in the future when I would get a bad cold to help keep the sinus clear and prevent infections. Ask your dr. about flushing your sinuses after this is cleared up (mine was 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, mixed into 2 cups of cooled boiled water, flushed 3 times a day with a syringe). I was problem free for 10 yrs. A couple of months ago I had a cold that settled in my sinus and the cat scan came back showing something in the soft tissue so I need to get into an ENT to have it checked out, probably polyps again but damn...10 yrs and no problems! My dr. put me back on flonase to help shrink the tissue until I can get into the ENT.

In January, I had a horribly bad deviated septum corrected, (plus nasal turbinate reduction), along with very extensive cosmetic sugery. I asked the ENT DR. last week how everything looked while he was up my snout with an Endoscope. He said everything looked great, but he personally thought that there had been too much reduction of the nasal turbs and that I was getting TOO MUCH air. Well, that has never been a problem in the past, I didn't know you could breathe too good. He said that during the winter months, or when I was in a dry climate, I could be affected by the dryness which could cause some discomfort. He suggested that I use a saline spray 2-3 times/day to help in moisturizing the sinus and nasal passages. I go back to see him on Sept. 8th. and will ask about the "flushing" procedure. Thanks Puddles. BB
