Scrape it with a butter knife to open the blisters. Then pour clorox on it. Yes, it will sting like a mofo for a few seconds and then it will dry out like dead snake on the highway. Besides, the pain beats the itching any day.

The dosage for predinsone in that six-a-day dropping dose regimen ought to be 5mg per tab.

Don't worry about losing muscle on Prednisone....you're not going to need a very high dose.
I agree with all of this.

Not everything about prednisone is bad. Prednisone is a glucocorticoid, made and released from the outer portion of the adrenal gland, so it is also known as 'corticosteroid'. Prednisone is a synthetic form of the natural corticosteroid hydrocortisone. Thing is, prednisone is known as a catabolic steroid, but it is most likely cancled out by it's immunosuppressant charactarisitics. The cytotoxic T lymphocytes that rush in to clear away damaged cells may be slowed with this supression. It's other effects are to release glucose in tissue and use more energy, which is a common effect of many other catabolic steroids.

They have injections for people who are allergic to bee stings, you'd think they'd have something good for poisen ivy by now. Geez, feel better quick, Spidey!

I found a prescription that my wife had about 6 months ago when she had a bad case. It was prednisone 20mg tabs; 1 a day for 5 days. Cleared it right up for her. My doctor seems to not like the idea of prednisone very much. He has suggested clobetasol cream. It is a high potency cortico steroid cream. I am still waiting for the prescription to go through.

Nice looking little doe. I am not a horn hunter really. I hunt for the meat. A nice little doe like that is preferable to a big buck; they taste better :) .

We had 5 in the yard the other day. There is a small opening in the woods at the edge of our yard and we see them pretty often. I was thinking of getting a salt block for them this winter. My daughter gets a big kick out of watching them but they spook so easilly, even the sound of the camera from inside the house alerts them. These deer are small, only a little larger than a full grown great dane.

Yeah, Fl deer are small. Up in Maine, I shot a 175 lb doe 2 years ago and she was the smaller of the two that were there. Bucks regularly get up to 225 lbs and some are over 300 lbs.

The deer down here in NC are pretty small though. Bucks usually range from 135 lbs to maybe 150 lbs. That's OK though, I can shoot up to 6! Plenty of meat to last until next season. This year, I may shoot even more than that. Overpopulation is a huge problem down here. The deer are eating themselves out of house and home so the authorities sort of turn a blind eye to people harvesting a few more than they should.

I got some clobetasol cream finally. The stuff really kicks ass! I had my first good night's sleep last night in 3 days. I put some more on this morning and my legs do not even ich. I read the insert that came with it (the chemist in me coming out, LOL). Clobetasol is listed as a "super potent" glucocorticoid with some mineral corticoid activity. This shit rocks! I highly recommend it to anyone with poisen ivy/oak.

 nj's method is too good. i'm gonna have to try it if i ever get it. Killing two birds with one stone. Classic.

A friend of mine had it last year and he did the bleach thing, but it left a nasty scar.
