How to avoid points on your license

Sounds like BS but you never know. For those of you who have a ticket, you may want to try it just to see.

Subject: Ticket

Remember, this advice was sent to me by my dad the
retired State Farm agent!

This system has been tried and it works in every state.

If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red
light or whatever the case may be, and you're going to
get points on your license. This is a method to ensure
that you DO NOT get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the
fine is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00 or some small amount over the fine.

The system will then have to send you back a check
for the difference, however here is the trick.
DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK! Throw it away!

Points are not assessed to your license until all
financial transactions are complete. If you do not
cash the check, then the transactions are NOT
complete. The system has received it's money and
is satisfied and will no longer bother you.

This information comes from an unmentionable computer
company that sets up the standard databases used by
every state.

Where I live in NC, if you get a ticket and want to pay it off, you have to go to the court house and pay with CASH--NO CHECKS. Yea, I live in a semi-bassakwards state. BB

Works in Kentucky. My wife did the same thing, never showed up on her record or anything. I thought it was far fetched myself, but I guess it is a real deal.

Well I can tell you that NY state is all fucked up. One day recently before a long driving trip, I got a notice and a check refund telling me that my auto insurance has been cancelled- 2 MONTHS AGO!! I did not receive any prior notices from my insurance company or the state DMV, and I'm freaking out about it. So I call my insurance guy and he said he'll call me back after he looks it up and finds out what all the poop is. Now, I haven't had any type of traffic ticket in the last 3 years. It turns out that I received a speeding ticket back in early 2001 and went to driving class to get it reduced. I was sent out of town for work and had to reschedule my court date to pay the fine. Instead of paying in person, I sent a cashier's check in lieu of a personnel appearance and even got back a receipt. I had since thrown the receipt away. So, I call the court and find out that I was also supposed to write a 2 page letter on "What I Learned In Driving School." :rolleyes: Since I didn't produce a letter, my fine wasn't paid in full. DMV was 3 years behind- 3 FRIGGING YEARS!! Gimme a break! Now I had to write the letter, deliver it to the court by 4pm that day (it was already 2pm) and then high tail it over to my insurance agent (all while driving w/no insurance) so that he had the court reinstatement letter and could write me a new policy. I was lucky that he could backdate it because otherwise, the state would have charged me $8. each day that I was uninsured- knowingly or not. Bastards! That was my relaxing day before I drove for 10 hours straight, lol. No pressure or anything....DAMN!
Don't be so sure that because no one bothered you about an unpaid fine or points on your license that you're home free.

Damn! Isn't it great how the province/state reserves the right to retroactively punish you (with no statute of limitations) for problems that they didn't bother to inform you of? Bastards...

No shit. The funny part was that I was supposed to drive the next day out of state & my friend who just drove in from Boston 1/2 hour earlier. To say the least, he was concerned that he'd have to drive me there, lol. So I quickly set him up with ESPN, pizza, beer, DVDs and my laptop while I ran my ass off taking care of all that crap, lol. I also had a haircut scheduled later too, hahaz. It all worked out but shit- it just sucked at the time, lol.

Im about to try that actually, due to me getting caught doing 60 km/h in a 40m/h school zone. the thing i hate more than the ticket itself is when you see the cops walk up to you and all you want to do is go off you head but you know you cant especially when your driving a modded car. You have to sit there and grit your teeth.
