We lucked out once again. Like Stromba said, a few of the neighbors trees went down, but they were all very small trees so no damage done. There are some people at the other end of our community who are still without power though. I went to pick up my daughter's friend who lives in our community about a mile away on Saturday and they'd lost power. By Monday it was still off and they had 2 upright freezers full of food (Omaha steas, lobster tails, etc...they're rich people LOL) so since my chest freezer was nearly empty, we were able to fit most of their food in our freezer. As of last night they still didn't have power.
I kept busy during the storm, cleaning the house, even took apart light fixtures and replaced bulbs, and started decorating for the reception. The storm gave me time to do a bunch of things I normally don't get to around the house. :) My mom and I watched some Sex in the City dvd's and I polished her nails with a design on her toes. By the time the storm was over, Stromba was definitely needing to get out of the house and he met his friend at the tiki bar. He called me to come down and I asked if the friend's wife was there and he said his friend couldn't get her to come out. I called her up and told her it was a phone kidnapping and if she didn't come she'd have to pay the price. She came out. LOL
I'll make a thread with a few pics. The interesting part of the storm is that many of the birds lost their nests in the trees so now we're seeing all kinds of unusual birds all over the place.
