Make sure you don't run it inside like that one family did!:D

        Never trust an old lady!

What mom saw was a SIGN for generators...they are all sold out. No generators in the state of Florida in Home DePot or Lowes. I did get more tape and plastic for the windows and now heading out for more water, gas for the grill, etc. Trying to find more batteries but stores are sold out of D's and C's.

You should see what land in napa is going for. People charging a mil for land with a shack built on it. No joke. Just because it's napa. :ghey:

Time to invest in some stationary bikes and strap the kids to em' to create your own generator.

Damn, Ivan is scaring me also. Either way it turns, there will be devastation. Wonder who would be worse with the devastion, the Florida coast or the Texas coast since that hurricane is the highest category?

I didn't think there was a risk that it would head for the texas coast? If a big storm hits houston/galveston we are all fucked because it floods here like nowhere else.

Also If a cat 5 storm came dead at me, I wouldn't run I think I would stay and wait it out. I have two big dogs that I can't just throw in my car and take off and I damn sure wouldn't leave them behind.

I lived in Houston during Alecia ... it was FUK'd up all the glass buildings down town and blasted through all the houses in south Harris. We (I was 11 or 12) got garbage bags and skateboards and went wind surfing in the streets...got some scars to this day to show for that crap :)

I was also there when GILBERT was headed straight for us (also a cat 5) but took a turn south and demolished cancun!!! it was a strange feeling...Iknew that it wouldn't have been good to get in the way of a cat 5 but I was a little disapointed that we just got a little bit of rain from it ... OOOOHHH the ignorance of youth!
