How many small business owners went out of business? These people can't get unemployment benefits (which I am sure this is where these figures are derived). Your unemployment figures only account for people getting money off the government tit. If I lose my job, I can't go to the government for help. I am fucked.

In the last four years, I have been unemployed almost a total of 8 months. I was forced to spend my savings (which I was going to use to get that "house" you were talking about) to put food on the table. I have made less money each since Bush took office.

For those of you who say the President has as much to do with the economy as time travel....seriously, wake up. He has everything to do with it. The economic climate of today is a direct result of Bush's policies (Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.). This guy doesn't have the skills necessary to manage a McDonald's, let alone the most powerful nation in the world.
LOL, what is Rhetoric about cold hard numbers? Did you look up the jobs report? I can tell you didn't or you wouldn't be spouting this nonsense about how all the jobs created were "janitorial" jobs. It gives the breakdown; go look it up for yourself. Oh, BTW, doctors, nurses, and lawyers are counted in with the "service industry". Not all service industry jobs are low paying. You are the one spouting rhetoric. You don't have a single statistic to back you up. If you are going to convince anyone of your positions, you are going to need cold hard facts and statistics to back them up. Not just a bunch of heated talk about how Bush isn't qualified to run a Mcdonalds, etc. That shit just won't fly in the face of facts.

I am sorry you have had it hard but not everybody has. In fact, if you believe the labor dept, most people are not in your situation.

And the economic climate today has more to do with the previously mentioned recession and terrorist attacks than it does with the war in Iraq. In fact, the war in Iraq CREATED jobs (mostly in the defense industry).

Anyone doing IT related work can verify there aren't shit for jobs out there. I used to get 20 calls a week for employment. I maybe have 1 recruiter a month sniff me out now. The economy is in shambles dude. We have the largest deficit of all time. One dollar won't even buy a euro any more. Seriously, if you think conditions are good, you must live in an isolated environment somewhere apart from the rest of America.
That has absolutely nothing to do with Bush. That's been going on long before he took office. The reason that jobs AND companies are leaving is based on the fact that most American workers are too damn proud of being paid what a job is worth. They always think they're worth more than they truely are. If I owned a company and could get the work done just well but at 1/4th. the price, I'd move too, AND SO WOULD YOU. BB

lol - i'm not republican or democrat, i just think that bush is an idiot and an embarrassment. i don't like really don't like Kerry either, but the things that i like about him are probably the things that Bush supporters perceive as strengths of the Bush administration. i like the fact that Kerry would hesitate before committing our nation to an enormous war that we can't afford. i like the fact that he keeps his religion out of his politics. i like the fact that Kerry believes gay and lesbian couples deserve the same rights as straight couples. i like the fact that Kerry seeks to protect the beautiful wilderness that we have in north america, not risk polluting it with a pipeline that, in the grand scheme of things, would yield very little.

hate to burst your bubble, bud, but it has everything to do with Bush. the president should seek to protect the livelihood his own people before that of other countries. the president should not cater to corporations, but to average citizens. it is more important to feed and house your own people than helping a company like Intel or Microsoft save a few bucks on tech support. and it is a new trend, SINCE Bush has been in office. companies that used to outsource, outsourced to other US companies.

i was in IT for years and i lost my job to a group of 6 Indians from Srilanka. apparently it was cheaper to pay all of them to run my network that it was to pay my salary.
