A good steroid article

I think this is a good article. I know the nature of this board, many of you won't see both sides of this one, I was that way once, but it should make for good debate:

Often you will find underlying psychological reasons why people abuse steroids in muscle building. Some studies suggest up to 25% have been physically or sexually abused as children or attacked as adults and are highly motivated to make themselves powerful and resistant to future attack. Others have a body image problem similar to anorexia nervosa, so that they see a weak and feeble body in the mirror - muscle dysmorphia. In some, steroid abuse is just a part of a wider picture of risk-taking.

Is this why we do it? Good article, but I think they are praising the medicinal purposes yet still being negative towards steroids in general.

Its a good article but some of the things said are a little comical.

I would like to see one study that shows this.

Actually its not that great an article now that I have read it a second time. It actually sounds more like the "specials" they have on TV. I like this one the best.

Dont get me wrong here, I am in no way saying that steroids arent dangerous. We all know that steroids can be harmful to the body. I just think some of the reason's they give are down right stupid.

You tell me keiser or anyone else, when was the last time you turned on the news and heard that a person died due to steroids? I have never heard that in my life.

By the way, the part about the brain tumor, they were refering to cortico steroids and the like. Half of this article is not refering to Anabolic/Androgenic steroids but somehow they try and blend the 2.

They don't care, the opposition will say anything to help fuel their cause. Doesn't matter if any of it is misinformation. All's it takes is to get people to read it and then it spreads like cancer. Just another biased and pessimistic article for the opposition.

never heard it before but ive seen on tv when people are sick and some died they blame steroids. They got nothing else to bale it to. If they were that bad, i guess we all would have been sick already and maybe died.

I'm just saying I was very hard headed once and wouldn't listen to the negatives about steroids. I thought they were the greatest thing ever. Now i'm more willing to look at both sides, i'm sure someone can find studies or incidents where this article can be proven to be accurate and vise versa.

The one I find most interesting is the weakening of the immune system, i'd like to see some studies about that.

Just because most of the people here are not dead doesnt mean steroids aren't bad for you.

They clearly do damage to your body, if they didnt these boards woudnt get sponsers selling viagra and cialis, milk thistle (liver) and etc. Most of the people that are buying the viagra here are buying it since they got "shut down" from the steroids, otherwise most here woudnt need this product

I can agree with that, but you most surely admit that steroids CAN be a precursor to certain diseases and death in some individuals.

I do know people who have gotten cancer, but I cannot blame it on steroids for sure, look at teekahty for example, and blackdream71, they were users and both got cancer, but can you attribute it to steroids? Who knows? I sure don't. For every 5 steroid users who have developed cancer, there are probably 100 or more who have never touch steroids and got it, from genetics, asbestos or whatever you want to attribute it to.

But, I will say if it does weaken your immune system like the article says and a strong immune system can fight off the initial stages of cancer, then you can draw a strong conclusion from that.

i do know they go thier sides. One side i got out of them was more hair than ever. The hair grwos thicker by the day. And more stronger body oder.:( My nuts are a bit smaller too since before i started, mistake first cycle no pct. A little bit of acne now on my face, not alot of a few.:(

I agree with everything that you have said keiser. Steroids definitly have a negative effect on the body. I just feel that sometimes these articles go to far to prove there point even if it means that the articles they write are not always accurate.
