they over exaggerate the problem with adding this and that. I dont know why they see steroids as the devil as where some people are hitting hard drugs and getting away with it. I say this because on of my little sisters friends overdosed on rec drugs, and their like nah. There are other major problems out there than worring about steroids. Yeah thier bad and good but not to the point where people who dont know jack about them talk shit and make them look bad. I bet even those docs that come out talking about them arent even docs, their more like actors to me. Or those people who come out saying steroids did this to me and that. People should just educate more themselves on things if they wanna learn more and not judge them.

"Brain tumours often respond dramatically to steroids."

I would like to see one study that shows this.
actually, the dramatic increase in IGF-1 levels exhibited by certain compounds has the potential to greatly increase the risk of accelerating the growth of any existing tumor.

GH has been rumored to do this.

Anything we put into our bodies can have a negative effect if done to the extreme. I think it's best that the media exhagerates the negatives because unless a person does a good amount of research, and we know that most don't, they'll just fuck their bodies up. Similarly with rec. drugs, some people can use them without major consequence, yet others die or nearly do so. Alcohol is one example, a glass or two a day of red wine has shown to help fight heart disease, but in excess it will cause liver damage, etc. Marijuana is another, it is prescribed in pill form for some patients yet it's illegal to smoke recreationally.

I am not aware of a single anabolic/androgenic steroids that has any affect on IGF levels. The article isnt talking about HGH bro. Its talking about the dangerous of steroids. To add, the brain tumor part, there not even talking about the steroids we use, they are refering to steroids given to people in the hospitol during surgery and the like. I think its funny how they try and blend the 2 together.

That article was pathetic. Laughable. If you're going to call a thread "A Good Steroid Article" please make sure the article has cutting-edge, useful, INTELLIGENT, and non-biased information. A better title for your waste of time thread would be "Steroid Scare Tactics Still Being Used In A Misguided Attempt to Decieve Uneducated Children".

                    I didn't read the article.

                    Here's my 2 pennies though.

There are alot more negatives about steroids than folks let on.

Look at it this way, all the research papers are done with specific parameters, folks who've passed a physical and are in good shape, and they use the best pharm grade AS, plus the doctors know what they are doing and do blood work.

In this environment, you find minimal sides, which IMHO, I beleive.

Now, you make em hard to get, throw in underground stuff and no supervision, and then think the sides escalate quite a bit, and since most users are not on boards, we do not get complete picture. Although, after reading boards for 4 years, seems all of us have some sides at one point, some tough some not so.

Reasons why people do things are so varied lot's of times there is no rhyme or reason.

My best guess is that deep down most folks want "something for nothing", which by the way, is not the profile of folks on the boards, folks on boards earn their way to what they got, and rightly deserve the rewards.

On the bell curve you will always find extremes in anything and everything .

Again, just a guess, most writers write with a point of view and a bias, it's the nature of humanity, and if they don't you can sure bet the editor does have a big one, it makes for better reading, conflict conflict conflict conflict, creates drama's, draws eyes and makes intersting.

                    Oh well

This is the type I response I expected. I forgot, steroids are wonderful, just like vitamins and vegetables, everyone should take them.

I think its a good article for this board because most, like myself do only look at the positives. Also, uneducated children can't read.

You mean to tell me that you seriously never considered the negatives. I find that hard to believe.

Before I started, yes. While I was doing them.... NO, I had a one track mind, wouldn't consider negatives. Then I experienced negatives and stopped, got back to "normal" then started again... more negatives, then stopped completely. NOW I look at both sides and I have experienced both sides, so that makes me wise or something like that. :)
