We all saw the debacle against Utah for the Aggies. A&M’s defense has several newcomers and communication and alignment was a problem in a 41-21 loss at Utah. That may again surface against Clemson and its no-huddle attack. Those worried about a let down after last weeks heart breaker don’t be. Clemson is 9-1 under coach Tommy Bowden coming off losses of seven points or less. Clemson is also 11-3 SU the last 3 seasons as a favorite.
Watching the Utah game it seemed McNeal was running for his life everytime he dropped back to pass. We could see more of the same as the Clemson defense had seven sacks against GT. Utah was able to exploit the middle of the interior defense for the Aggies for big yards. I look for Clemson to do more of the same to set up Charlie Whitehurst and the passing game beautifully.
Aggie is 1-11 ATS as a dog and 9-30 SU last 39 games as a dog.
Aggie is 6-20 ATS the last three seasons.
Clemson has played two very tough games to open the season, and should be very battle tested already.
