The weather in my area is so nice right now. The type of weather that makes you not have a care in the world. The ride home from work was nice. Good music played on the radio all the way home. But when I pulled up in the driveway it all stopped. I have a high school right around the corner from me, and all I could hear was the marching band playing for their football game. It saddened me dearly. All I could think about was when I was in high school at prep rallies and games. Back then you didn't care to much for the music, but loved being around all those hot young girls and not having a care in the world. I am 25 now and this is the very first time not being in school anymore saddened me. Not only that but I also realized that when your in school your have so much fun looking towards the summer. Then when you go back, you dont want to go back, but it truly was fun. Watching the weather go from hot to cool, to just plain cold. And oh, once again the chicks. My god the chicks. Knowing what I know now, i want to go back so bad. I would go to that game, but two things would happen. One, I would get laughed off the field for trying to hang with high school kids. Two, I would get myself in some serious trouble with them girls. So for now I will whine to you all about it.

It gets worse, sorry! You've heard your Mom or Dad talking about someone and say, "Yeah, I've known them 30 years". You think, DAMN, their old as dirt. Just wait, it'll seem like tomorrow and you'll be saying the same thing about people you know. Life is short---ENJOY while you can. Like the old saying goes, "youth is wasted on the young". If you don't know what that means, you will, lol, and sooner than you think. BB

Yeah, but my parents always tried to tell me the same thing. When your that young you dont listen. It sucks though because I wish we would have. When I heard those bands go off tonight I just got this weird shiver.
You know how many girls we could could get going back with the knowledge we possess now? Oh my god. Especially with the interenet up and going strong. See right when I was getting out of school the interenet was getting popular. Damn. If someone would create a time machine to take me back where I wanted to go, I swear I would pay whatever fee it would cost. I would find a way to get the money.

Yeah I miss being in high school, but I'm not gonna let myself get hung up on the past and miss out on the present. Enjoy what you have going on now man, dwelling on the past only makes you miss out on all the great times you could be having now.

I wish I could go back in time too....I'd like to have the muscle mass that I do now, but have the fresh young joints and back that I did back then. I was a good football player back then, but I'd be just sick if I had the size and strenght that I do now...coupled with the speed and agility of youth.

I would go back in time even if everything was as it was, not knowing shit. I'd love to go back to 12 years old and until I got my driver's license at 16. I had a horse, and so did everyone else in my semi-rural area, which was wonderful. Of course, I had transportation via my bicycle, but a horse was the bomb. Anyway, just learning about sex and those clumsy fumbling attempts getting laid and learning the ropes, wouldn't have been nearly as exciting if you already knew these things. Life is so full of things that have to be learned, and learning those things is more than half the fun. After you've learned all these things, especially about the opposite sex, it's not nearly as exciting, I think. I always remember these two things. One from a song, "Oh yeah, life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone." And, "Men living their lives in quiet desperation". After the thrill of life's lessons are learned, some of the "newnest" wears off. It's still ok, but not nearly as much as when you were young and learning. BBOriginally posted by hitmansb

I'm 38 and wouldn't want to go back in time at all. Right now I'm at my happiest, most content point in my life. I enjoy the good memories of the past but I still have a lot to look forward to in my life and I just enjoy every day as it comes.
My daughter who's 12 loves being a kid. She sometimes says she doesn't want to have to grow up. Then there are other times where she looks forward to doing things that she'll only be able to do as she gets older (like driving, going off to the mall unsupervised, playing her instrument better).
Finding a good ballance between the past, present and future makes life at every stage more enjoyable.
Before my father passed away he became severely depressed dwelling on the past, both of mistakes made and missing the good times he used to have when he was younger. I hope I never get like that.
