Hmmm...having an aching lumped nut myself recently, I went to the doctor all freaked out. After initial tests, they ruled it as epidymitis, or infection of the epidymis. The cause can be a STD (ewwww!!), it can be another bacterial infection, or it can be chronic. They swabbed me for STD and I had a pee test, and it turned out it wasn't the clap, but a bacterial infection. 10 days on CIPRO and I was fine.

So, long story short: If the dull pain gets worse, go get a second opinion. You might have an infection going on in there and may need some antibiotics.
