  • Computer Question

Hey guys I'm wondering if there is a way to clean up my computer so my work can't track what sites I go on. They get bitchy every once and a while, and I'm not as computer literate as I thought I am. Thanks guys :)

I dont know i f i do this right but this is what i do

on the "start menu", go to "programs", then to "accessories", then to "system tools", then to disk "clean up".
That should erase the pics and the names of site uve gone too.

Also on the "tools", go to "internet options", then "erase history".

Finally go to "history" and just erase all.

Im not a computer wiz but thats how i get rid of some things in my computer.:D

make sure you delete all the offline content as well when you erase your history and cookies.

If they are tracking where you go there is no way to avoid them seeing it unless you stop going to those sites. If they are just looking at the files on your pc the above suggestions should work.

well I work for the govt. so I am sure anything they want they can get from me even if I delete the files. it just depends on how nazi-ish your company is. LOL

If you are getting pop-ups you may have some spyware on the system. If you have administrative rights to the computer you could download some free softwware that cleans all that crap up.
Our IT department recommends the following:

                      The best programs are:
                      Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
                      Spy-Bot Search & Destroy 1.3 - http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html

and you can find a Cache cleaner out on Google to clear out all web pages visited.

                      Later Bro

My company stores each site we view in a database and if anything ever happens they go and review everything you've looked at on the net and there is no way possible that I can erase what is listed there.
