i'd be interested in knowing what kind of power is running to the subs in 5, if that isn't a paint-shopped picture. enough power and the sound pressure inside that space would be loud enough to shatter the windows. if you've ever seen competitions where they place a decibal meter inside the car and see who is the loudest, they often have bullet proof glass bolted on and STILL have to employ the use of 6-7 people to simply hold the doors on so they don't blow out. while larger subwoofers would be capable of creating lower frequencies and not necessarilly more volume, those same low frequencies are what's being tested by law enforcement agencies as non-lethal forms of crowd control.

maybe it can hit the brown note?

Yeah, it's real. I've been to plenty and sound competition, that shit is normal. I've seen a van with (16) 12" subs, each getting 500 watts. There were (8) 1000 watt x 2 channel amps, and they had like 8 batteries in the car. They had to shut the van doors, and then put a dolly strap around the entire van over the doors so they wouldn't shake loose. The windshield was bolted with about 30 bolts with what looked like bulletproof glass. Then they had a wire running to the car from a custom build stand with a CD player on it (which was outside the car). They play the CD for literally 1/2 second and stop, and then of course they won the competition for that category. It's kinda fun, but I'm less into that, and more into nice sounding bass. If you're looking for something that sounds good, you should stick with 10's, they'll reflex quicker, giving you more realistic sounds, especially with music with fast drum beats. But if you're into hip hop, I guess 12's would be fine, they usually have slower bass beats.

I'll look for a picture of that van to post on here.
