Andres Galarraga started at DH, needing one homer to reach 400 for his career. The Big Cat went 0-for-3 and was hit by a pitch in what might've been his final game before retirement. Galarraga, 43, was diagnosed with a recurrence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last November, which caused him to miss the entire 1999 season. He underwent surgery in November and had a stem cell transplant in February. Galarraga went 3-for-10 with a homer and two RBIs for the Angels.
ANAYLSYS:
The Angels are hot right now, but Boston, once again, is determined this year. The Halos have really improved over the last month or so as they have picked it up a notch. They haven't necessarily had the best pitching, but their bats have been hot. Today they face Schilling though. I believe this is the BOSox's year. I think they take control of this game as well as the series starting today. Looking for nothing less than a solid victory today from this powerful line-up of the Red Sox. Washburn can be hit, but Schilling can be trouble.
