Edwards impressed me greatly. Cheney was so much better than Bush. Edwards won on my card.

Absolutely!! I think he laid it out very clearly how fucked up this country has become because of The Bush Administration.

cheney did fare much better than bush... to my amazement. kerry and edwards used the same strategy to win both debates. start off w/ allegations and put your opponent on the defensive. while he talks about why he had to do certain things, u tell what you will do in the future followed by an ending allegation. limit his ability to talk about the future and it seems like you have more of a plan.
I just hope this election isn't won by the party who can simply communicate, not think better.

        Cheney seemed very competent.

Too bad he, like Bush, relied heavily on false accusations.
Unfortunately too many people are too lazy to find out the facts.
Edwards did't have time to rebuke them all.

I personally don't like Edwards, but, anyone but Bush!

Any shred of thinking has got to be better than the thinking thats got us in the mess we're in now.

I felt VP Cheney came across as an honest, knowledgeable, experienced man with a grasp on the issues and a clear vision of what it takes to succeed at a very tough job.

And Edwards looked like a politician.

Cheney was disingenuous. He can sit there and act like he is in total command of all of the facts except he doesn't tell the "facts." Instead, he tells lies and half-truths and makes up false accusations about his opponents, even while being publically scrutinized like in his debate. I was hoping his heart stent would pop out the whole time while onstage. You can be smooth and snide and appear to have all of the answers but it means absolutely nothing when you provide false assertations. The other thing that should have stood out to viewers clearly was when Edwards countered his voting record with Cheney's voting record. Cheney voted against fucking Meals On Wheels for the elderly and shut-ins. He voted against extra protection measures against airport security to detect plastic weapons (a glock pistol is plastic), and various other Darth Vader-like similarities. It showed where Cheney's loyalties really lie- not with the average citizen.

Cheney sat there on national TV and claimed that he never stated nor implied a connection between Saddam or Iraq to the 9/11 attacks! I have seen him actually state the connection on several occasions. The other thing that stood out was that Cheney never even attempted to defend his administration's 3 year lack of progress on consolidated airline terrorist passenger list. Cheney simply conceded his response time back to the moderator. He did this in several instances after being put on display for his obvious questionable service. No response....an admission of guilt.

Maybe he voted no on those bills because libs/dems tacked on too much bullshit. Maybe you should check Edward's facts instead of taking him at his twisted word. Because if you think a Glock is mostly "plastic" and won't set off detectors then you may have lots more facts wrong.

Can anyone sit there and say that this country is in a better position than it was 5 years ago. Hell no. Just look at our financial situation with healthcare premiums being out the roof. Our national debt is at an all time high. This administration has robbed your kids and grandkids social security to fund an unneccessary war. One of the things that pisses me off the most is this fucking republican congress that gets cheaper premiums on healthcare than you and I. They DO NOT care about the american people. I could go on and on, but it pisses me off too much.

No, I'm not saying a Glock is purely plastic. I am stating that certain portions of the gun could be smuggled into a plane by several people and that the stock would never be detected. This doesn't even touch upon the possibility of plastique or ceramic knives being ignored.

As for the vetoes, maybe we should all go to the senate website and look up the final versions of the bills in question? I'm all for that.

Which is what I mean about adding liberal bullshit to a bill knowing it won't pass. That was an attempt to pass more stupid gun legislation by the Dems via sneaking in things they could never propose in seperate legislation. I can smuggle all the plastic composite gun frames I want. But I'll never make it through screening with the metal slide, barrel, sear, springs etc. And since I can't shoot anyone with the frame of a gun it doesn't make much sense does it.
