Oklahoma Sooners -6
Merry Christmas to all of you who grab this before it hits -7 or -7.5. The Sooners have won 4 in a row versus Texas with the average win coming by 30.8 points. That is incredible and I don't see it being different this year. Go hard or go home...why waste big Unit plays on teams like EMU last week.
The Texas Longhorns are 4-0 on the year but have not played as tough a schedule as Oklahoma. The Longhorns are as good as it gets on offense averaging 7.2 yards per play. However, I think their offense concentrates way too much on the run and that will be costly in this game. RB Cedric Benson and QB Vince Young are two of the quickest SOB's around. Benson has 750 rushing yards on the year and Young has an incredible 224. However, I’m concerned with what they can do against the best rush-defense in the country. The Sooners allow only 2.7 yards per carry this season and 2.3 QB sacks per game. I have not seen a D-Line like this one in quite a while. The only reason Oklahoma has allowed 200+ yards passing per game this season is because opposing teams attempt an average of 38.8 passes per game. The Longhorns are good but not that good to compete with the Sooners.
The Oklahoma Sooners are downright sick. RB Adrian Peterson has come onto the scene and blown opposing teams away. He is currently averaging 6.3 yards per carry and has 6 TD's. He is not as good or experienced as Cedric Benson but it won't take him long to achieve the same numbers. QB Jason White is having another Heisman like season and I expect him to have a great game. He lives for games like this and loves playing the Horns. The Sooners average an incredible 8.7 yards per pass attempt and have an O-Line capable of stopping an armoured tank. This should easily open up holes for Peterson and when you give Jason White time, he connects. This game will be decided by a touchdown and will side with this Stoops team any day. This is the Cotton Bowl and the Sooners own this game!
