Wisconsin Badgers-Ohio State Buckeyes 'Under' 37
The sharps took the opening line of 39.5 and immediately brought it down to 36 or 36.5 at some books. This was all within a matter of hours after the lines were released. I have no doubt in my mind that the Badgers will cover but my only concern is that Jim Tressel is 4-1 ATS off a SU Loss. The ‘Under’ is a combined 7-2 for these two teams this year. I'll stick to the total. Who the hell is going to score in this one?
The Badgers have not allowed more than 7 points in any game this season and are off to a 5-0 start. WOW! The only problem is, they have a really hard time putting points on the board to support their defensive efforts. Badgers QB John Stocco has 3 TD's and 3 INT's this season and has completed only 47.8% of his passes. That is not good seeing that Ohio State allows a miniscule 4.8 yards per pass attempt. So, on the ground we go. RB Anthony Davis finally came back last week. He will have room to break a few big ones in this game because Ohio State is returning only 4 starter on defense. But when you look at it, they allow only 3.8 yards per carry (which is really not that much) and the Badgers average only 4.8 yards per carry. Let's get on thing straight though...the Buckeyes have some of the best defensive backs in the country and running is all Wisconsin is going to do...tick tock tick tock.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are pretty much in the midst of a re-building year. Talent alone clears them of that title but they returned only 9 starters from last year. New QB Justin Zwick has played so-so and has already thrown 5 INT's. The Buckeyes O-Line allows an average of 1.8 sacks per game and that means big trouble against this Wisky D that averages 2.4 sacks per game. Zwick meet the grass! Grass meet Mr. Zwick! The Badgers also allow only 4.6 yards per pass attempt, which will be enough to contain Zwick. Ever since RB Maurice Clarett left, things at the RB position have not been the same. RB Lydell Ross leads an offense that averages only 3.2 yards per carry which spells huge trouble against a Badgers defense that allows only 73.8 (2.9 per carry) rushing yards per game. Ross is garbage if you ask me and looking elsewhere should be a priority. Again I ask...WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO SCORE POINTS?
