  • Saturday College Football: Texas A&M vs. Iowa State

    From MistaFlava:

    Texas A&M -7.5

The Aggies hit the road for the first time since losing 41-21 to Utah back on opening day. Toss that game out and let's look at what they have done since. QB Reggie McNeal has been very sharp even though he has thrown only 2 TD passes. This kid can run and leads the team in rushing yards. The Aggies average 432.3 total yards per game, even though they have played against Utah, Clemson and Kansas State (doesn't say much but still). They are going up against an Iowa State defense that has yet to face a real team. The Cyclones don't have a tough schedule as they have only played against one decent team (Okie State). McNeal averages 8.2 yards per pass attempt this year, while Iowa State allows 8.1 yards per pass attempt. Running might be tough in this game but with a guy mobile like McNeal, anything is possible. I say A&M wins this by 2 TD's or more.

The Iowa State Cyclones are 2-2 this year. Both their wins have come at home. The Cyclones average only 293.8 total yards per game and are up against a much improved Texas defense. They average only 2.7 yards per carry on the ground and have to deal with the TAM defense that allows only 2.7 yards per carry. The Aggies defense allows 6.7 yards per pass attempt, while the Cyclones average about 6.6 yards per pass attempt. I have a hard time believing Iowa State will score more than 10 points in this one. The Cyclones are 0-9 ATS in their last 9 as conference home underdogs being outscored by an average of 29 points per game. They were also 0-5 ATS last season as home underdogs.
