I have been stewing about this all day, and I have to rant now. My bf and I are letting his friend stay with us- the guy called and asked if he could stay while he "got back on his feet" and got a job. Of course we were happy to do that for him. However, he acts like he is at a bed and breakfast. We are on a budget, and he has been eating whatever he wants here (he does not work out, so I don't think he needs to be eating our food- we make it for us, and you all know it's not cheap to feed two people who actually go the gym.)
I could probably even deal with this, but then he started harping on me that I need to go to the grocery store so he has food. WTF???? What has he been eating in our house?!
Then he started in on the alcohol. We don't drink much at all, but we keep alcohol here. Without asking, he started drinking whatever he wanted. He already polished off a 1.75 L bottle of vodka and 750 mL bottle of whiskey, which I think is a problem drinker, but that's his own issue. I told him that one bottle of liquor belonged to someone else, and he still tried to drink it!
Okay, maybe all of that isn't the worst thing in the world- what are friends for, right? We offered to let him borrow an extra cell phone as soon as we got it back from another friend. She hasn't brought it back, and he has been hassling me about it every day. Instead, he just helps himself to making as many long distance calls as he wants on the house phone. All of his stuff is piled in the garage- I won't be able to park in there when it starts snowing, which should be soon. To top it all off, he invites people over that we don't know or trust to be in our home. How are we to know that they are not going to come back to rob us later? You don't let strangers in someone else's house!!!!
He shamelessly asks for rides everywhere, since he doesn't have a car. He smokes (outside), but still stinks up the house. He had the nerve to call my boyfriend 'stingy' for not giving him something he asked for.
The list goes on and on, but I will stop here. I don't want to kick him out on the street, but he won't stop acting like this even when my bf talks to him- my bf went off on him this morning, and he just doesn't seem to get it. I am just really pissed that someone would act like this with "friends."
btw- my bf says that I have presented the most tame and watered down version of this that I could!
