  • 6.5hrs of sleep. should I workout?

I only got 6.5 hrs of sleep last night and I am suppose to workout my shoulders 2day. Will I be hurting my self or is 6hrs still cool? I usually stick by the 8hr rule but I feel good today. Let me know what yall think.

Yeh, get in there, its not like your training legs.

As long as you dont make a habit of skimping on sleep, one day is not a problem, so long as you feel good then go for it!

i would, hell i consider it a blessing if i can get 6 hrs of sleep, can't remember the last time i had 8. i don't feel the 2 hrs will do that much of a difference. i've went on 4 before just fine.

lol, everything is so scientific these days. when people are wondering if they should go to the gym because they got 2 hours less sleep, we have gone to far. Just get in there, train, eat, and sleep good tonight.

LOL- I average about 5 hours of sleep. My body doesn't want anymore and the only way I could fall asleep is with meds, which I won't take.

Like others said, one day is not going to make any difference either way.

Long term, listen to what your body tells you. If you are perpetually tired, have a hard time making gains, etc. you are probably not getting enough rest. I think the 8-hr thing is just a guideline and each person is going to be a bit different.

I have twin boys...8 hours of sleep is none existent! Like Bouncer said, you are thinking too much. Just go train!

Thanks for yalls help. I knew this would be a stupid question its just I am paranoid cause I dont want to lose any gains that I got cause I am competing in a BB compitition in about 25wks and want everything to be perfect. Also sometimes you have to take it that far so you can be that much better then the next to you on every pose. I am an easy gainer and I think its because of my sleep that I am but I will hit the gym and thanks again.

I don't think you can lose muscle gains from 1 bad workout day; and besides, like everybody is saying, 6.5 hrs sleep is far more than most of us get. Usually I get 4 hrs during most weeknights and have to play catch up at the weekends. More importantly you should judge whether to workout by how your feeling. There are times where I have had a lot of sleep and felt really rough, and others where I have slept like only 4 hrs, but cos it was quality sleep, I felt fine all day.
