I guess we are speaking in relitive terms. Like I said I am not a member of his fan club. He takes some valid points and takes them to the extreme and in doing so he loses credibility IMO. My point is as annoying as the guy can be he is not a communist and he has not done anything other than work to get his view out by using film and the printed word. He isn't even an elected official so why the mindless and violent reactions to him? What do people have to fear from the guy? Again, I am not a fan but even if you don't like him or his views to say the guy is not intelligent is silly. Now I can think of a pretty prominent, recently re-elected official that was a straight C student throughout school, never quite mastered the english language and has a very average IQ but I can't think of his name of the top of my head:D

Some people will never see the logic or reason behind a clear and concise point. Michael Moore is a lying socialist with an agenda completely in opposition with the morals of our country and it's founding fathers. A person so skewed and biased will never change their point of view even when faced with cold hard facts.
So in other words, sometimes the only thing a stupid motherfucker understands is a boot to the teeth. Make sense to ya now?

I sure as hell hope you weren't referring to me. You yourself did not make a clear and concise point, you said that a curb stomp would be the nicest thing you would do to MM. You have yet to make a point despite clear and stupid hatred. The guy may very well be an idiot, and have a different political stance as you (which is apparently way to the curb stomping right); however your statement is moronic. I am glad to point that out to you.
How exactly are his views in complete opposition with our founding fathers? Because he doesn't back Bush's quest, or because he doesn't agree with your clearly very educated beliefs?
You are right; he is clearly very skewed and biased. Not at all like you wanting to curb stomp someone for their political belief. Yeah, it does make a lot of sense to me now. Which cold hard facts was he presented with that should have caused him to change his mind. Again, you seem very well educated, so I would love for you to passively educate me as appears to be your way.
Grow the fuck up.

This same guy is the leader of your country, what is Michael Moore? The object of your affection it seems.

Like I said I am not a huge fan of the guy(MM). You speculating on when or not I have a degree of affection for him means nothing one way or the other, although it does fall right in line with the total lack reason and substance with most of what has been stated in this thread. As far as Bush goes...well, obviously I did not vote for the guy and the prospect of him leading this country for another four years is frightening to me(for the record I don't think Kerry was the answer either). I am guessing this is the part where people start calling me unpatriotic and inviting me to leave he country...maybe not...Either way with the exception of Titan, I have not heard a shred of intelligent thought came out of anyone on this thread. YJ, I have actually thought highly of you on a lot of your posts, you seem to be a smart guy. I guess it just goes to show how deeply divided these issues make us. It's emotionalally charged stuff... I am guessing we could go back and forth for a year and not change each others opinions.

IF everyone who did not like the president left this country, nothing would ever change. Im not a very politcal man at all, as I tend to avoid these threads. But as you mentioned, MM has used his celebrity power, films and documentaries to slam GW. This just goes to show how spineless of a human he is. Why not use your wit and fame to do something productive? All of this attention is simply in his own self-interest. Instead of slamming Bush, why not promote Kerry or whomever.Originally posted by 7lok4

Fear? Not hardly. Anger? Hell yes. Why, you ask? Well, let me ask you a question...Have you ever actually listened to even 5 minutes of what this guy spews? It is atrocious how this guy outright lies to a crowd, on film, etc. in order to sway public opinion about a guy who at least deserves a more respectful approach. After all, he is just the President, right?Originally posted by 7lok4

Have you ever heard Bush even come remotely close to the level of disrespect that MM seems so fond of wallowing in? No. Bush conducts himself like a gentleman. Even as bad as I'm sure he didn't like Kerry, he never said anything about the guy that overstepped the boundry.
MM knows he cannot sway public opinion with intelligence in truth. So he goes for sensationalism and lies, and takes it to the extreme, seemingly passionate about his cause. Why? Because he knows some less-than-educated, less-than-informed people will buy into his line of bullshit. That supposed "documentary" of his has had so many holes shot in it, it amazes me how anyone can take it or him seriously. But, he built it to drive emotion, not truth. And it seems to have quite an effect on those who are emotionally driven and not so much driven by intelligence.
He goes around to college campuses, preying on those who are younger, who have not yet had enough life experience to see through his line of bullshit. To them he sounds so passionate, like such a rebel against the so-called "system", that they buy into it. Anybody making that much noise must know something everyone else doesn't, right?
To say that he is not smart is not totally true. That much I will give him. But obviously, he was not successful in his endeavor. Why? Because he picked the wrong side to slam. He had so little real truth to go on, he couldn't present himself as much more than a fanatic to most of America. At least for now, "star power" will not overcome truth.
And to be honest, who really ever heard of this guy before he started screaming for attention like this? His notoriety came to be much in the same way as Paris Hilton's. Who knew who she was before her porno tape kinda "leaked" out into the press and internet. No one. Funny what happens when you have a little money and want some attention.....
So, back to the original question, why all of the opposition to this guy? He went about his little tirade in a way that offends most people, against a guy who deserves more respect. If he was truly that intelligent and if he truly felt he was on the side of truth and rightousness, he could have went about this whole thing in a more "conventional' fashion, and been able to win over public opinion through truth.
But, like I said, he was fighting for the wrong side. And you are the only one saying he is so intelligent....Last edited by redMachchick; 11-08-04, 06:34 AM.

Just a point of correction here: Bush had to take an IQ test as part of his military training (as did Kerry). It may interest you to know that he actually scored marginally better on said IQ test than Kerry. Bush's IQ is estimated in the mid 120's; significantly higher than the average IQ of 100. Bush has degrees from two different Ivy League schools (Yale and Harvard) and can fly a fighter jet; how about you? (BTW, they don't let "stupid people" or even those of average intelligence to get behind the stick of a multi-million dollar jet.)Originally posted by 7lok4

There are more reasons than just intelligence that control what grades you make in school. Whether or not you apply yourself for instance.

I've seen those numbers too Spidey. Good post. Also, in one of those "reasons", it stated that Bush was a "lame duck" president. I thought a lame duck president was a president who's party was in the minority in the House and Senate and it was their last term in office. Correction please. BBOriginally posted by spidey

Mental Retardation: < 100
Below Average: 100
Average: 120
Above Average: 140-160
Genius is usually around 160+, up to I think around 230 for people who are freakin mutants.
Bush is probably average. I wouldn't say Kerry is much smarter though, I don't really know, never met the guy.
