From what I understand he set up the murder of many innocent people. In his later years he became a much better person, but originally has wasn't much different than Osama.

schrulz: Everyone can do to be informed a bit more, even me. My point was for a person to educate themselves on the ways of the world, especially in this area, before calling someone a terrorist. I agree Arafat was linked to acts of terrorism, but if you compare act for act, even US Presidents are linked to acts that may be considered terrorism, i.e., murder of foreign leaders, murders of individuals that pose a threat to them (Clinton for example), (George Bush I).

Like Cory above me said, WHO FUCKIN' CARES!

The killing of innocent people is just part of war. How many innocent people do you think we killed in the wars we've been engaged in. Look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WWII. How about the massive bombings in North Vietnam and elsewhere. The way all world leaders look at it, it's unavoidable to try to attain peace. Sad but true. BB

Everyone should read that link. Good read. A lot of misconceptions laid to rest. I would bring attention to the fact that the PLO charter STILL calls for the complete destruction of the state of Israel. Oh, but Arafat wanted peace, right?......

BB I dont want to get into a long discussion on this topic, but targeting innocents and accidently killing them is a big difference.

I know what you're saying, but they knew that innocents would be killed in these bombings. IMHO, there's not much difference, either way, the're dead and they weren't combatants BB
