well after spending all day on the phone with microsoft and verizon i am still left with no xbox online. i was connected to teir 3 microsoft nerds and they could not figure it out. every thing looks good and then it just dosent let me connect. DNS is configured, IP configured, subnet mask configured. MTU settings are correct.

the ethernet cable u plug into the back has like 6 wires in it, and they have to be in the same exact order as the one tahts plugged into ur modem. if they r not in order it will not work. also the lil metal peices that are pushed down onto the wires have to be pushed down all the way, if they are not it will not work

Dang that sucks. Try to figure it out, once you play online, you will never go back to regular playing. I know a lot of people have problems figuring out how to set x-box live, so they go to this website for information.

Guys, I was able to get everything to work. The Xbox was "talking to the modem" it verified the IP address, the DNS and so on. The xbox had no problem talking to the modem so we know its not a connectivity problem.

Finally figured out the problem. The ethernet connected to my DSL modem for some reason wouldnt work with the Xbox. I changed it and everything is now fine. I have it all connected threw a wireless router. Cool as shit, no more wires. Im typing this with no wires connected. I feel like einstein.

So, how is online play on the x-box? I have a ps2 but im thinking about getting an x-box, is it any good online?

ya its pretty cool. i was never much into video games until halo 2 came out and i thought i would give it a try. now im hooked. the only thing i dont like about the online thing is you have to listen to all these fags talk to each other and talk shit. lol
