Hopefully the Golden Eagles were just experiencing opening day jitters when they fell behind 30-19 to Western Carolina in the 1st half a few days ago. Diener and Novak combined for over 40 points, if they can do that again today I love them to cover the spread. Air Force plays pretty good defense and shoots the ball pretty efficiently (mainly because they like to try and slow the game down a lot, be patient and find the good shots). I think Marquette can play into this well, with Diener and Novak being good players in the halfcourt offensive sets. The thing I like is in the event that Tom Crean decides to try and push the ball every once in a while in an attempt to stifle the Air Force transition defense, they have the ability to do it in Dameon Mason, the athletic sophomore swingman.
Niagara +10.5
Providence has Gomes again, but Niagara returns their scoring machine in Juan Mendez (20ppg and 8rpg last season I believe) along with good ball-handler Alvin Cruz. I do believe Providence will win this SU, but laying DDs seems to be too much to a team that can score points in bunches.
Arizona -23
You know what, I'll take a gander at this one. Arizona has been scoring huge amounts of points in their first few games, and San Diego comes from the WCC (they're not exactly the rulers of that conference either). I'm willing to make a small play on this one, plus it'll be on TV...woo hoo!
