Going on a cruise again..

Right after the new year we are going on a cruise again. We went at that time last year and loved it. Its not to hot in the Caribean but just perfect for beach weather. Its also great to get away right after the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

The cruise is going to the following:

Depart Ft Lauderdale
Day 1: Nassua Bahamas
Day 2: Day at Sea
Day 3: St. Maarteen American Virgin Islands
Day 4: Tortola British Virgin Islands
Day 5: Day at Sea
Day 6: Half Moon Key Bahamas (Private Island)
Day 7: Back In Ft Lauderdale

CANT WAIT! I love cruises.

I thought about your post you made awhile ago with the vacation pics. We will get to those islands sooner or later. I have never been to any of the islands on this cruise so im excited.

we've only been on celebrity. this time we're going with holland america.

i think a cruise is what you make of it. "best" is a very subjective thing. my standards may be low compared to yours - or high.

the only thing i've really read though (and this is just my interpretation) - is that if you're a "foodie" and expect to be served true gormet food, stay away from carnival.

Well that depends bro. Me and sana like to relax on a cruise. We like to lay out, go to the hot tub, go out to eat and such. Thats why I picked Holland America for this cruise. The average age on this cruise is 35-65. That means there wont be a ton of kids running around screaming. If your into staying up dancing and drinking all night with younger people then something like Carnival would be the right choice. We went last year with Celebrity cruise lines and loved it. They are in between the party seen and the relaxing type, a little bit of both.

Cruise lines are put into catagories aswell. Companys like Celebrity, Royal Carribean, Celebrity are whats called a contemperary line. This means, these ships are for the masses. They have a little bit of everything. They leave out a little bit of the luxary but are still very nice.

Holand America and a few other lines are known as Premium lines. Meaning they put more money into making the ship look super high class. They just go that extra mile ya know.

Then there is the Luxary lines. These cruises usually cost about 7-10 grand. Mostly all retired people who want to be pampered. Very nice but to much if you ask me.

For a first time cruiser, I would suggest Celebrity or Royal Caribean. They both have a little bit of everything. Me and sana went on celebrity last year and we loved. It was the best vacation I ever had. I am hooked on cruises now. Hope this helps.
