  • Digital camera question

i wanna get a digital camera to track my progress and possibly post some pics, but i really dont want to spend a lot of dough. i checked ebay and theres lots of cameras selling for under 50 bones... theyre all names ive never heard of and i imagine theyre pretty crappy, but i really dont need a quality one. do you think theyre worth the gamble or should i just save and get a decent one? thanks,

a camera under 50 bucks is a piece of garbage that will break on you in a year and the pictures will look like turd. there are some good digital cameras that you can buy in the 250-350 price range though.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you spend some money and get a real camera like Bouncer suggested, you can probably get a timer function on the camera that will delay the picture so you can take pics of yourself.

You can pickup a decent point and shoot camera like the Canon a70 or a75 for under 200 bucks. The majority of people out there don't use all the fancy crap on cameras anyway. If you are just using it to take family pics or photos of yourself that one is perfect. I have an 8 mega pixel camera, but also have the Canon a70 and I haven't had any problem with it. The only time you will notice a difference in pixels is if you are going to blow something up to a 8 x 10 or bigger.

I would definately save up because if you think about it a camera is something you get once every like five or ten years...you wanna get quality...

You've got the holidays coming up, so when family ask (if they don't ask, tell them now before they start shopping) what you want for the holidays, tell them cash so you can get a good camera (and supplements). :D

does that model have a timer? i think thats the only extra function id actually use... and if you knew whether the a70 and a75 have timers too, that would be awsome
