The Dell mini would be better for your wife since most girls like those things (and cell phones) to be small :agree:

Ipod is the only way to go for mp3 players. It has lots of great features and a long battery life. You can also invest in the itrip. It plugs right into your ipod and transmits a signal through your FM radio so you can play it wirelessly through your car stereo or any stereo for that matter. Get the bigger hard drive. You can put your entire collection on your ipod which you will love because you can just put that puppy on random and listen to your favorite tunes all day. :)

If you have 50 dollars more to spend then i would deffinitely get an ipod. The 20g ipod is 300 and the mini is 250. They are smaller and have more features than the dell model. I am sure the dells are good also though.

one of my friend just bought a dell mp3 player and he actually ownes i pod too and he says dell or another brand like a nomad is better. he says i pod has to many nanys, like you can only purchase music from i tunes and you can't share music between your friends, but you can with the other one. and he says you can download music from different sites cheaper like wal mart has a download site too and each song is 89c instead of 99c at i tunes.and they do sell big hardrives 20gig or larger too.oh by the way I own an i pod mini and I like it alot.I actually won it in a drawing from EAS.it is ironic couse I don't even use their products hehehehe.

I don't what what the hell you mean you can only download from itunes. You can get music from anywhere and put it on your ipod, and yes you can share between friends. I don't know what he's doing wrong, but that's misinformation.

i have an ipod id say its probably my best friend! i use it for hours everyday. i especially like the wheel part; its makes it so fast to pick a song. i think the only downside is the battery life. i have to charge it everynight or else it dies on me. they also arent very durable. they cant get wet at all. i know several people whos ipods completely died on them.

now my next deliema is the mini or full size.... i know she will mainly use it at the gym so the small would definantly be handy, and how many songs can you really listen to at one time........ but it just seems stupid not to spend the extra 40$ and get 3 times the storage.

A dell mini could still hold about 1,200 songs. More than a lot of people own. Even if she filled it up, most people get sick of songs they've had on it for awhile, and they can remove those to put others on.

The ipod has adurability issue in that it has an aluminum housing. If you drop it it can easily dent as apposed to other materials. If it dents it often ruins the drive. Just something to consider.
