      Cool,

Personally I see coming off the gear as a positive step if its what you want to do? I started juicing again about 18 months ago after a 6 year lay off. I'd used AAS as a teenager, competed in body building twice, won twice, the last when I was 19, decided I wanted to take a change in direction when I went to university, I carried on training but natural. That was tough and I knew nothing about PCT just quit cold turkey.

The thing is although I Juice now, I know that in a couple of years when I want to start having kids, it will be time to stop or at least reduce a lot. I love training for the kicks, it gives me a buzz, and yes it boosts my ego to say I squatted 400 for 6 or deadlifted 450 for 2, or say how much my weight is. In truth I am convinced that if you take AAS out of the equation, body building is one of the healthyest sports if done with good form and nutrition.

I think that AAS add weight, cosmetic condition and yes strength, but after a while I get sick of being on and need a break, and although I am a bit ashamed to admit it, I'm a better person when I'm off, more patient, understanding, helpful and thoughtful etc.

Physique wise, I think that Bruce Lee, Brad Pit, Evander Holyfield and yes Arnie have equally good physiques, just with different dynamics and although I appreciate heavyweight body builder physiques, I would hate to look like them and my girlfreind prefers my look when I'm off.

Bounce, you have a whole new arena to play in now, you have your own set of natural hormones and bodily functions. AAS definately have there place, and I like this site because it enables people to make informed decisions and although AAS don't usually hold significant physical risk I fully respect the phsycological effect they have when on them and the annoyance caused by the yo yo effect in gym performance of going on and off them.

Whoops, maybe this post belongs in a different thread.

Back pain is hell, I've dealt with it for years. If you haven't been to a chiro, maybe you should get checked out and get x-rays just to see if your spine is out of alignment. I was told for years that my spine was "crooked" when it was simply my muscles on one side that were pulling it out of place. I got a lot better when I found someone who good at massage and reflexology. Good luck.

How in the hell did AS come into this? His complaint was back pain and someone shouts "AS"??? Wow....

Actually BOUNCER, your pain did not make me think of muscular problems. It actually made me think of your kidneys. Your description of where the pain is was a little hard to understand. Are we talking C spine, T spine or L? If it's closer to the middle of your back, right side and/or lower, then I would have guessed perhaps it's kidney related. The only difference is going to be if moving makes it worse. If not, then it is not muscular. Also, if you tried taking Ibuprofin and the pain either did not go away or became worse, then it still could be kidney. Kidney pain can come and go without warning.

I am not trying to scare you. Many of us shrug off pain or do not realize that it could be something else. Just be open minded and think about the things i said and if any of it sounds like what is happening to you.

BINGO. I was wondering when someone would bring up kidneys.

It could be a stone. I was just working in the lab one day a couple years ago (before I ever touched AAS); no heavy lifting or anything. All of a sudden, it felt like someone hit me in the back with a baseball bat. I actually doubled up and fell to one knee it was so sudden. I couldn't breath the pain was so intense. It lasted for maybe 30 seconds or a minute and then subsided. The next day I started having discomfort while urinating and 4 or 5 days later I passed a kidney stone. The Dr said the initial back pain was likely caused by a kidney stone breaking loose.

You might want to go to the doc and get a picture taken of your kidneys to see if you have kidney stones.

The way I read it it sounds like the pain is too high to be the kidneys. He makes it sound like it's middle to upper back.

I pulled a back muscle lifting a car battery on a friday, I felt it twinge a little bit, didn't think much about it. I had no pain until Monday, it all hit me at once then. The way the doctor described it to me was that it took awhile for all the blood to rush in to help repair the muscle, then the more swollen and filled with blood that it got, then it was bumping into my spine, nerves, etc.. thus causing the majority of the pain. Nothing I took helped with the pain, it took a week or so of just laying around on the ground watching tv.

Mate is it just painful on twisting movements? If so its bound to be a pulled muscle....

It does sound like it could be a kidney stone to me too. My fiance had a concentrated pain in her back that would go away then come back for about 4 days then it was unbearable. Had to drive her to the hospital. All that pain for a stone the size of a grain of sand! Drink a LOT of water just in case. If it is kidney stones it will help the pain a little. If its getting better you might have already passed a stone and not know it. Hope you get better.

As soon as I start walking to my car I get pain in my back that almost takes your breath away if I stand in some positions. The pain is on the right hand side on the upper middle trap right about where the bottom of my lat is. What I dont understand is how I did this? I was find Monday morning for about 2 hours and then it just started hurting. It wasnt a pain that I woke up with.

I watched about 10 episodes of sponge bob square pants and 5 episodes of All in the family yesterday. This shit better go away soon.
                              Maybe it's a pinched nerve?
