well the local world gym has changed over to a planet fitness-

when they did i left but am now back there- do to schedule- and its close to home-

things were fine up untill this week! starting seeing all these new rules being posted,
some alarm is being put in the floor, if you drop the weights it sets it off, lights go off etc,etc its fucking stupid- i dont drop the weights so i can live with that, well now they dont want any type of grunting -- when i put 600 lbs on my shoulders and squat down to the floor i tend to make a little noise on the way back up- told them to put the same amount of weight on and do the squats without a sound -i'll do the same

then i had one of the owners tell me that me and the guy i train with do not fit there plan, that we scare people because of our size and with the way we train , [i am not trying to toot my own horn here, i am a big guy and the guy i train with is is a big fuck ]

wtf all we do is come put the headphones on train like hell and get out- how the fuck are we bothering or scaring fucking people? so i hate to talk to people when i am training but am very approachable when the headphones are off and i am done training - i am a pretty nice guy for the most part! i hate most people!! but still am a nice person lol


we get intense but its directed at eachother or whoever else is training with us-
we dont bother anyone-

planet fitness's moto is judgement free zone -- well thats total bullshit-
i get judged everytime i walk through that fucking door -- they had a fucking mangers meeting about us lol -
wtf , we are not breaking any fucking rules- asked if we could train early in the day when there is less people in the gym

well my first thought was to just move on- head to another gym - but you know they fucking win if i do-

so my traing partner and i decided that we will show up every fucking day with a smile -


there is a golds set to go in near my work next spring or summer so i will more then likely end up there-
but will keep my membership here -its 15 bucks amonth with unlimited tanning
but the biggest reason is to just piss them off!

Damn, these guys are such assholes. They probably don't even have a clue about working out and have never lifted a weight in their lives. I always find at my local gym, that the bigger guys are always the nicer ones, and its the smaller ones that tend to have a chip on their shoulder and behave like assholes!

Definately stay there on principle, and if they ask you to leave, file a discrimination lawsuit. They'll likely be forced to settle for an amount that will pay your membership dues at other gyms for years to come.

I agree with the above. They have already told you that you are too big and such, that's already discimination and you could persue it already. But, I would not bring that up, because they could come up with "another reason" to boot you.

I do DB presses at my gym. The owner himself has spotted me a few times and he knows that you can't help but let them fall a few inches from the floor. Once I get past the 90s, I am not going to endanger my shoulders instead of making a little thud on the floor.

Lol. Who ever the jackoff was that told you you were too big and that it scares the customers fucked up in a big way. PF's corporate attorneys would fall out of their chairs if they heard about that one. I am not telling you to sue them, I hate that shit, but you always have that to hang over their heads. That is a pretty clear-cut case of discrimination. No way i would ever give up that membership. Keep going and doing what you do. It sounds like it would only be a matter of time until management came at you with something else completely stupid and illegal. If it keeps happening then call a lawyer. Just my 2 cents.

The World Gym I go to recently had new management take over. They've moved all the equipment around and they took most of the power lifters stuff and put it in a back room to get them off the main floor and there's a sign on the doors leading in there that says "Power Lifters Only." Personally I think it sucks, I like the PL's (they're the nicest people in the gym) and listening to and watching them train is inspirational.

Good luck, House, keep going in there and show them who's boss!

Hitman is right they have no legal right to even approach you with such comments. They are setting themselves up for a large lawsuit. That is tottaly unacceptable in todays times. Put it in their face very nicely with a smile and non disrespect if they say anything else. If they push the issue.... Drop the bomb and laugh all the way to the bank!!!!

The world's gym around us is like that. I was going to switch until i found out. They do not allow you to wear tank tops there. I was like WTF is that shit?

I would love to see what happens with you guys. If you end up having to sue them, it will make national news for discrimination. Just make sure you get Al Sharpton to back you up. :)
