Totally worth the investment bro, I would buy one too if I had the space. Its great cardio and a good way of releasing aggresion.

Yea 75lbs bag would be good as long as it has that gel wall for protection, or you could also buy one that is made up with water

Hey Rocket, I used to use a 120 when i trained and to be honest, for the first month or so it hurt like hell. After awhile I got used to it and it just didn't hurt anymore. This was of course the whole reason my trainer made me do it. Just something to think about.

            Here is one:

there is also just a gel sleeve you can slip right over your punching bag too.

do you hit it as hard as you can? ive been using it for about 6 mons. but to scared to go hard as i can. i have broke bones in my hand a few times from street fights when i was a kidd i think thats why im a lil scared.

If your wraps are done up correctly and your punching techinque is correct you wont break your hand on a 55kg punching bag. IVe got a 120kg floor to ceiling bag and I havnt broken anything yet. Just curious why do you need to throw full power punches? Is it just to blow off steam or you doing it for a fight? If your training to do it for a fight its a total waste of time. Techinque (snapping punches) and shot placement (aiming for knock out points) will drop a guy far quicker then trying to throw bombs at him. I see these guys at my gym who are meant to be fighters practicing king hits all the time and it makes me laugh. They take this big run up and swing at the bag as hard as they can, funniest thing you ever did see, you can break your hands that way. If you really want to cause maximum damage use elbows.

A few tips to be able to hit harder. Fists relaxed until point of impact then clench and push threw the target with a snap at the end. Idea is to rock and brain around inside the skull, and also step out your punches. Similar to what you see on wwe. Stamp your foot as you twist your hips, driving your hand into the bag, elbow straight in behind the blow.

dencalis thanks for the tips but no im not trainin for a fight and i would never run up a punch a bag i throw combs with a knock out punch at the end. do you think i should push a lil harder and get used to it.

Yes. Just make sure you have your techinque right and pound away to your hearts content.
