  • Kidney Stone for Christmas.....

Well...Christmas was pretty good to me! My first one with my 8 month old son! Watching him play with all of his new stuff has been awesome! The one thing I received this year that I did not want was a kidney stone...one that was 4mm in size and not passable! The last two that I have had have been about 1mm in size and I have always passed them in about 12 hours of having had the pains kick in! For those of you who have never had a kidney stone...they say this is the male equivalent to giving birth! And believe me...IT HURTS! It started Sunday night after Christmas with some pain and the constant urge to piss! Went to the ER on Monday morning and got a shot of dalodin(sp?) which makes all the pain go away and makes you feel all nice and warm and fuzzy inside:P! X-rays and a CT-scan showed where it was and the size of it! Was sent home with some scripts for some good pain killers and a pee-strainer! Well...six hours later I was back at the ER doubled up in pain and vomitting! The pain killers were not working! I got another shot of dalodin which wore off before I left the ER and was given another shot just before I left! Was given another script for better pain killers and was told to call the Urologist the next day! Called the Urologist and was rushed in to see him! He gave me the bad news that the stone was now imbedded somewhere! I was given a new script for even better pain meds and was scheduled to have the stone removed! Well by now it is Thursday, pain killers make time fly by, and my surgery is at 9am on Friday! For those of you who have never had a stone removed they put you in twilight sleep(not completely under) and shove this shit up through your peehole and scoop the stone out! After the stone is removed you have a cathater(sp?) going through your peehole up to your bladder which is attached to a bag which drains piss and blood 24/7! You HAVE to drink a glass of water every hour to clean out your system! After the piss begins to clear up you can remove the cathater(sp?) and start to TRY to piss normally! I took it out Saturday night and have been off the pain meds since then! I still have a stint inside of me which has to be removed! A stint is a plastic tube which runs from the kidney to the bladder to keep anymore stones from getting caught up in the there! As I type this now I am waiting to hear back from the Urologist when I can come in and have it removed and when they remove it the will do a cystoscopy at the same time....that is they will explore through my peehole from my kidney to my bladder for anything that shouldn't be there! Yes....all this will be done through my peehole!

For those of you who took the time to read this whole thing I want to thank you for allowing me to waste part of your day! Happy New Year!!!

I guess that's one Xmas present you can't return. I guess you can't have a very happy New Year that way either! :nono: :bj:

What an image that story gives!! That sucks-I've always been afraid to get kidney stones. Hope you feel better soon-just ask for more of those pain meds! Do they know what is causing you to get these?

:agree: Bro...I hope you never have to experience this in your life! I don't know what causes them but they are testing my stone to see what it is made of and then they will be able to tell me what to avoid! This is my third one in about 10 years and second one in the past 4 years!!! To close together in time! They say that the pain with each one only gets worse...and believe me....IT HAS!!! I do not want another!

 Nope...no sex in over a week! My gf is so horny and I am unable to give her what she wants! The ol' peepee is still swolen and sore from everything too! As for feeling better...I am! Thanks! I haven't taken any meds since Saturday! My last script was for Oxycodone and those babies knock my ass out! Can't drive or hardly function while taking those!

Hey Bad1 check this out. I average about 2 stones a year. I have a test tube with 14 stones in it. I keep them around for a conversation piece. I like you had to have the last two taken. Man was my pee hole sore. The first time you pee is unbearable. Once the pain moves to the front ab area, is when the nausea will begin to set in. Always make them give you phenaghan to take home with you to go with the pain meds. The meds themselves can make you sicker as you know. My stones are in my family history. my last one was 7mm the size of a golf ball or so it felt like one. I have done chemical analysis on 6 of them and all of them have a different chemical makeup. My doctors are now telling me that there is really no cure but just watch the caff, dairy, and heavy doses of protein. Not happening. I am just living with it but I always carry lortab, morphine, and phenaghan just in case it hits me when I travel or don't want to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. So hang in there and good luck in the future.

Only had it happen once and I had a kidney infection the put me in the hospital for a week. Not a fun experience. Hope the peehole tests are over quickly with as little pain as possible.

this is odd, because earlier today for some weird reason the thought of me ever getting a kidney stone crossed my mind. sure hope i never have to deal with it, hope your peepee gets better.
