I just measured my BF with some Accu-Measure calipers and I'm pissed. Getting old sucks!! I measured the skinfold at my waist and got an average of 9MM. Just using that area, (the only chart that came with the calipers uses that area only), for my age, 57, I have 17% BF, or should I say BS. It also stated that I would be considered "lean". However, if I were 30, I would have a BF of 10.6%, but considered "Ideal", which is not as good as "lean". Again, getting old sucks!! I tried to measure my bicep in the middle as recomended on some web sites, and couldn't even get 2mm. Tricep was the same way. I can't get to my back, and right now there is nobody to measure where they suggest, just below the scapula, but there is very little there, less than the 9mm on my waist. THEY SAY, that when your younger your BF is nearer the skin surface, but as you get older, you have more internal fat, thus the STUPID readings. If you've been training and dieting for the better part of 27 years, not constantly, but more on than off by a long way, wouldn't you think that may not hold true? AGAIN, GETTING OLD SUCKS!!!!! BTW, I'm 5'10" and weigh 205lbs. I used to be 5'11", but I guess GETTING OLD MADE ME FRIGGIN SHRINK!!! BB
