The only company I saw that had the balls to air something and i give them tons of credit for saying pretty much fuck you to the FCC. Watch the extended version here.

No that was just cause Budweiser is a bunch of pussies and didn't want to risk getting in trouble.

Yea but they got the creativity across because everyone knows about that one. No publicity is bad publicty.

Looks like on most polls the soldiers coming home is the favorite. I thought the commercial was great, but I don't think it can be catagorized on the same level as the rest. It wasn't really advertising a product.

I thought all the commercials pretty much sucked this year. The advertisers were all intimidated.

What I didn't like about that commercial is you never see that many troops getting off a plane in a regular airport. It's usually like 2 or 3. If a whole troop is coming home they land at the local air force base.

It wasn't promoting a product but Anheiser Busch let everyone know that they appreciate what the soldiers are doing! To me, that says more about a company than anything else...they could have spent that 2.4 million promoting a product but instead they said "thanks" to the men and women that serve our country!

Dont think for a minute that they did that just to say thanks bro. There is reasoning behind that commercial. They want to let america know that they (anheiser busch) are good all american people that say thanks. in return they hope the public wil say to themselves, "well, anheiser busch is a good company with good ethics and i will buy from them". companys are always treing to make money bro.

that is so true, there were good intentions but the commercial had a bottom line and Bouncer nailed it for us. Sounds like a perfect definition from my college ad classes. :agree:

That's not true. First of all the Military will often use commercial airlines. I have flown this way many times when I was in. They wil also at times charter a whole plane. Not to mention the fact that MAC air has a huge terminal in LAX.

2nd It was only 5 or 6 people in the commercial not a whole unit.

I'm in advertising... I'm actually the creative thinking part of the field. To me the Go Daddy commercial was kind of stupid... I agree everyone was more timid than usual, but don't be so quick to blame the agencies for not coming up with the ideas, I'd say it more lie on the companies wanting to keep everything safer this year. What was funny is that this year was so super conservative compared to even watching regular tv. Almost too much.

:agree: I know that they are always trying to make money! And that kind of ad will help them get my money over any of the others! I appreciate them saying thanks to the men and women in the armed forces and they appreciate me buying their product! Whatever you want to call it....it worked!
