Ok I had really high blood pressure awhile back. Some remember a post about it. It was 170/94 and now after a month and a half of taking natural supplements like garlic, buffered c, and co-q10 I have got it down to 146/70. That is not what concerns me, cause I know it will get even lower in a month or so. My concern is my pulse rate was 77, is that bad? Also I get headaches now which I never got when I had my bp as high as 170/94. I also pee very frequently and I am thirsty almost all the time. I am scared I might have diebetis (spelling). I dont get innsurance till next month cause I changed jobs so thats why I am asking yall rather then a dr. Thanks for any help.

Therock, your pulse rate could be up a little due to stress! Anxiety will increase your pulse and can even give you headaches and make you urinate more often. I know before I competed in the Nationals I was so dry in the throat all week leading up till the actual comp. And that was before I had even reduced my fluids. My trainer put it down to anxiety! If I were you, I would go to the Doctor just for a check up and see if whether or not you have diabetes. I personally think that you have worried yourself into this state, but I am not a Doctor. I am only a "Naughty Nurse", Sorry I couldn't help myself there. Hehehe! Might just have to give myself a little spank here!
Seriously though Therock, go to the Doctor tell him your symptons and ask to be tested for Diabetes. Once the results come back negative you will have peace of mind. Stress will prevent you from making consistant gains in your workouts. You have to get rid of the stress, otherwise it will drain you emotionally. Good luck!

First off, your pulse rate is fine. The average RHR is 80 bpm. Improving your blood pressure allows your heart to put more blood through your body. You might have some repairing still going on since your body was denied addequte supply of blood for a while. This could be the headaches from a low blood sugar. Again the headaches is just a guess, but I don't think it's anything to be concered about. Just keep drinking water and it's pretty cheap to get your blood tested for diabietes. I even think there are home tests at alot of drug stores.

His blood preasure is good, no need for bp medicine. The last thing you want to do is get on medicine if you don't have to. Any schmo can learn how to use a blood pressure cuff to give a good enough reading. The doc is important if you have had a history of high bp to see if there is extensive damage.Originally posted by dreamgirl
if youre worried about your blood pressure, I think you should go and see your Dr. they might want to prescribe medicine to lower it. My mom is on them and they have really lowered her blood pressure.

Taking your bp is easy enough with a cuff, and anyone can take there pulse. As far as your how your feeling now, you can check web md they have a pretty good generalized symptom decoder it might ease your mind a little. When you insurance kicks in it would be a great idea to get a complete physical with blood work and make sure you mention your symptoms .

Thanks for all the help bros and miss Nurse. I greatly appreciate it. I am not sure what it is but I know anxiety could be a factor. I get readings at the local drug store and my mom works for the dr. and she can read my blood pressure there for free. I get the hook up on anything but lab work type stuff. So thats why I have to wait till the innsurance kicks in. Its weird cause when I think about it I start feeling it, but when I dont think about I dont feel anything.
