  • Drivers license question.

Ok guys, going tommorow to get my NC drivers license. I have to take a written test to get my license here. I have no idea why someone with a New Jersey license would have to take a test to get a license in North Carolina, once you drive in jersey you can drive anywhere! lol.

Anyway, can any of you guys give me any tips as to what I should study for the test? I know there is a road sign test and a multiple choice test. Is there any section of the test that I should really study specifically? Thanks

Signs, right-of-way in all possible situations (ie what happens if you get to an intersection and the signal lights aren't functioning), proper procedure dealing with emergency vehicles, all that good stuff. If you've been driving for many years, just use common sense and you'll ace it.

I had to do the same thing going from Texas to Cali, I just went in there and answered common sense and got my licence. You just have to get a 70 or above. Things that may get you are traveling distance, stoping distance, when to turn your lights on according to sunlight, and speed limits when not posted. When I went from Cali to Oklahoma I just showed them my cali one. They took it and gave me an OK one right there. Didn't even have to wait for it in the mail lol.

Just go in and get the little driving manual and read it over before taking the test. Most of it is just common sense; it isn't hard.

I guess you have never moved out of state before, eh? You have to take the written test in any state you move to before they will issue you a state liscense. Driving laws are a little different where ever you go. I have had liscenses in Me, NC, FL, and WY and I had to take written tests for all of them. Actually, I had to take two written tests in each state because I have a motorcycle endorsment and that requires a separate test.

Well I got my license. I was getting a bit scared because the 4-5 people ahead of me all failed the damn test. LOL. Out of 25 you can get 5 wrong and still pass. I guess they all got more then 5 wrong. I was standng behind this one guy taking the test on the computer and he had just started his test and had 3 of 5 wrong. lol. I got 2 wrong out of 25, cant remember which 2 they were though. Most were just common sence questions.

Congrats, man. Those bozos probably shouldn't be behind the wheel anyway if they can't get the written test right.

I'm guessing the two you got wrong were just like when I got some wrong. Didn't read the whole question or read it carefuly since it sounded simple enough and just answered wrong.

thats cool u got it bro.

Brings back memories of when i was first gonna get mine back in 98. I remember like 5-6 people being ahead on me, way older. They sat down to take the test and i was on the counter giving my info. As soon as i get the test, i sit down and take it. Within 3 minutes im done. The people just looked at me like whoa. I dont really remembe what i got but i did good.

Good going Bouncer, over here its a bit tougher; you aren't allowed to get many wrong and there are more questions. But most are common sense again. I just hate the ones that ask about tyre tread and stopping distances, stuff you gotta memorise!
