  • Biblical Question

I assume that cavemen came before Jesus. So at what point was the Adam and Eve story, and the church stories fabricated?

I only ask this, because I watched "Beyond 'The Di Vinci Code' " last night on the history channel and it just got me thinking.

Man, I'm going to save you and anyone else the frustration. I'm not asking about the Di Vinci Code. I just don't believe in god, so I don't pay attention to those kinds of time lines. I was just curious.

Why ask about it if you don't believe in God? You know as well as everyone else here that politics and religion always start a heated arguement!

I'm not trying to debate what's right to believe and all that. I think it's great to believe in something as long as it helps to make you a better person. I havn't found much reading on this, not that I have done extensive research. But here's where I'm confused. The whole story starts with the creation of Adam and Eve and goes on from there with the belief in god. That guy bringing down the 10 comandments to live by from a mountain. But cavemen lived in well caves. Not very civilized. I havn't read things about them believing/worshiping "God". Everyone is suppose to be decendents of Adam and Eve right? All the stories in the bibles talk about a more civilized life, with homes and store vendors and what not. Where did the christian belief get lost if it pre-dated cavemen?

Most people are raised from childhood to believe in one or the other. If you are taught from birth that God created all then that is where most people develop their beliefs. If you were taught that evolution was how the earth and man-kind came about then you most likely will not believe in God.

As far as I know but what the heck do I know? I had religion shoved down my throat as a kid and with my parents divorcing and getting remarried left and right I was introduced to several types of religion. I got sick of it but I kept my belief in God. I can't say whether or not who is right or wrong in religion. I have seen it all from just going to church and listening to the preacher and singing hyms to worship God, to snake handling, to drinking stricnyne(sp?) I do know that I never saw anything bad happen to anyone. Is it their faith in God that kept them from dying or was it God?

the bible came about when people realised that through fear they could control people, fear of the devil was then incarnated for someones gain.

Creationism vs. Evolution, um, um um. I'll say no more, other than the fact that I believe in the evolution theory of man. Creationism just doesn't add up in the time line of found fossils of our ancestors and the history, (time wise), of the Adam and Eve story, based on the age of the Earth etc. BB
