hehehe, thomas edison was great, but a bit of a dick as well. when fighting for which type of electrical current to make mainstream, he would hold demonstrations of how dangerous AC current was by paying a quarter for peoples household pets and electrocute them using it. he even electrocuted a horse at one point. he'd then advocate for DC current to be used, which of course he had patents for.
