The Pope has passed.

Not that he meant much too me, but I didn't relize how much he meant to the community of people who care for him. I was outside doing a few things. I came in and saw my girlfriend very upset. As some of you may know she is from Poland, so this really touches close to home for her. My heart goes out to those who feel the pain of his death.

I am not a Catholic but I don't really need to be to appreciate that Pope John Paul II was an inspirational man. He dedicated his life to a greater cause. Whether we agree with his personal convictions or with the institution that he represented, it makes no difference to me. He spent his life in the service of others and I can see no nobler effort in life than that. RIP.

yup, i am not a religous man at all, so i dont understand the religous end but i feel that he was an incredible person.

All the specials about JPII have confirmed that he had a profound impact on politics, policy, and ethics while he lived. I didn't always agree with him, but what I'll always admire was his ability to be a real example. He traveled over 750,000 miles, and none of it was vacation travel! They also said more than 18 million people came to see him during the 27 years he was pope. I hope people can keep some of his message alive.
