A recent Popular Mechanics issues looked at some of the myths about 9/11. Apparently the small hole in the inner Pentagon was caused by a sheared off landing gear. They made the valid point as well that when a plane or missle or shell/bullet hits something solid with enough energy it will actually transform itself into a spray of molten liquid/steel/concrete etc. Kind of like the damage an anti-tank shell inflicts when it penetrates armour. Pretty good read debunking alot of the myths.
