So, I am going to buy a car some where near the end of July. Looking for something new, maybe a year old. Around 10K, 4 door, great gas milage, and of course great safety rating. I looked at a Hyundai Accent. Seemed all right.

Here's the US government's NHTSA site for car safety in crash tests for comparison of any cars or trucks one might want to purchase:

Yea, my friend has one of those. I like it, but it's a good 4K+ more than I can afford. I make $8/hr working 34 hours a week. Since my girlfriend is not a citizen she can only work at the school making $300/mth.

I have bought and sold so much shit off ebay. I sold a 1989 Dirt Bike on ebay for $1200.00 about 2 years ago.Originally posted by Shibby
I'm sceptic about buying cars off ebay. Then wouldn't I also have to get it to where I am at?
There are so many people and companies selling cars on ebay that I bet you can find one within 15 miles from you. Alot of dealerships sell on ebay. That first link I posted was from a dealership.

I was just about to suggest a Honda Accord. I've leased mine and am I'm on my third one now. They're very reliable cars, decent gas mileage, very good safety records, and definitely enough room for a kid and all the stuff that goes along with them. The a/c is strong and the car cools off quickly in the summer.
My first one was a 4 door, after that I switched to 2 doors, I just like they way they look better and I never found it to be a problem dealing with a baby car seat in the back of a 2 door.
I would suggest that you try to get a car with leather seats because babies and kids make messes and leather is so much easier to keep clean. If the milk spills it won't soak into the seat cushion and stink for the next month. Melted crayons also come off the leather easier. :D

If you can find one that is maybe 2-3 years old I would go with a Camry or a Maxima! Both are 4door and great on gas!
Saturns have gotten better since they first came out so if you look for one look for an Ion or a Vue that is a couple years old.
Hyundia has gotten a lot better since they first came on the market and have one of the best warranties out there....they have just never been able to lose the stigma that they developed back then.
I will tell you this....what ever you get. unless it's an Excursion or Navigator or something that size, you will find that you still never have enough room! I have a Maxima, my gf has a 4 Runner and we still run out of space for shit. Having a baby, you have to travel with so much stuff it is scary! We just spent the weekend in Panama City and after packing the stroller, the pack-n-play his baby/diaper bag, high chair, his clothes and a bag with toys...I had no room for anything else!
I don't know the safety rating on the Mitsubishi Montero Sport but they look roomy and are pretty good on gas! There is a used one for sale just up the road here that is maybe 4-5 years old and is only $12,000! I had my bank, which has an autowise center in it, take a look to see what they thought and they said they could find something else with less mileage on it! If you have a bank that has a autowise or something like it take advantage of it. They will find something you like and do all the dealing for you! Good Luck Bro!
