  • He's here!

OK, we have a new arrival in my home. I named him Hobbes (after the philosopher/writer) and he weighs approximately 6.7 lbs. He'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow. My other dog (Brandy) who is 8-1/2 years old seems really happy now. They have started to play "chase me" already and Brandy acts like a young dog again. The really good news is that he has started eating. This was the same dish full of food that had been there for at least two days. He ate his entire dish of food tonight after playing with Hobbes! I think Brandy is going to be alright now!

Here are a few pics of him for everyone. Thanks for your support!

Oh MY GOD You have hair on your fingers, That is so totally disgusting. LOL Just kidding

He is adorable, Good luck with him. I assume you have a crate to train him. If not I strongly recommend one

I'm glad this is working out for you and Brandy. It is a sound plan. Parental responsibility my be just the thing to take her mind off the loss and fill in a little of the emptiness for her

I'm really hoping this makes your other dog happy. Aren't puppies cute and exciting-it's almost like having a kid!

Sorry about the size of the pics, lol. I don't post pics often and I don't have a resizing program. When I click on them they open a seperate page and they aren't extremely large. Oh well, deal with it. LOL

I do have a crate for each dog although the older dog seldom uses it much anymore. Brandy is a new dog and he seems quite happy (albeit tired) with his "nephew" and all of his youthful exhuberance. Right now Brandy is still trying to cope with the idea that the puppy is trying to snuggle up to him for naps sometimes. He isn't quite sure what to make of that yet because at other times, the puppy just wants to get close (stealth attack) to nip and play with him. Although Brandy is a pretty easy-going dog, there have been a few occasions where the "pecking order" had to be asserted. LOL.

I agree, that puppies are much like little kids in a sense, except that they don't grow up and tie up your phone line, computer and constantly ask you for money, lol.

PI, sounds great. We got a new pup a couple weeks ago, and the oder dog (only 1.5 years old) is adapting relaly well. they're inseparable now. Hope your guys get along great. They really need each other - like we need other people.

                              Hey thanks, Lmg2701!

Those two dogs play daily tug of war games, wrestle and the puppy likes to curl up next to the other one for naps, lol. That puppy eats like a friggin horse! hehe
