Music downloads

So I bought my wife an ipod for Mothers Day (even though she's not a mom!) and we need to get some music for it. She's pretty legalistic so she wants to pay for the mp3's she downloads. What experience do you guys have with the best value (price and selection) service available? thanks!

OK, what do you use for free music?

Itunes has a pretty decent music store to buy mp3's

Free music: Bit torrents by far the best. Then theres p2p programs like warez, limewire ect. Much less dependable for quality music.
