Goliath Grouper

Caught my first one today. It was a freakin blast pulling him in. He weighed a little over 35lbs. Small compared how big they can get but I was happy. I also caught a bunch of spanish mackeral, red groupers, and sea bass...the shark got away, the bastard went under then over the anchor rope and then the line broke, he looked about 3ft or so. Damn, I love fishing!

Been deep sea fishing once before in the pacific. Definatly something quite exciting about it over a lake. I was only fishing for salomon.

That sounds like a ton of fun. Where are you fishing? Fishing opener is this weekend here-can't wait to get out and catch some bass/northerns.
I think sea bass is my favorite fish to eat. I was just in Naples, Fl and grilled some fresh sea bass-best meal I've had in a while!

I think I would blow a gasket when the line broke. For something that big to get away. I would be kicking myself thinking of what could've been.

I went out about 18 miles (in a dinky 19ft boat) of the coast of Tarpon Springs to a buddy's hot spot over a ship wreck. I had to throw that grouper back cuz they're a protected species, but I could care less it was exciting reeling that bastard in.

people that fish are weird I have noticed...lol...do you guys buy the magazines and watch the shows at 700 in the morning on weekends about fish :D

Honestly, I have never read anything pertaining to fishing. I enjoy doing it, but everything I know I've learned on my own or from other people. I'm not a fishing freak, it's just something to do that is totally relaxing and even fulfilling when you catch something worth while.

yeah fishing is so much fun, I caught a couple of spinner sharks near west palm. Man that was a good time. I cant wait to go again.

Hell, no! I just like the relaxation. I'm not one of those nuts that knows what colors and types of bait every fish likes at every temp. I just enjoy the time on the lake and the occasional fresh fish for lunch.

Fishing junkies are definitely some of the weirdest guys around--but then they probably think bodybuilders are weird, too! :D

I was just seeing how people would react. I have been fishing a few times and I know nothing about it but it was fun. Deep sea fishing was my favorite.
