Sometimes people do need a little push. Who knows what those guys were talking about when they got to the top of the stairs. Perhaps they were cussing you out, maybe they wanted to cool down with a gallon of soda and a tub of ice cream. OR maybe half-way up they were holding onto the hand rail for dear life, struggling for breath. Perhaps they looked at each other and had one of those forehead slapping moments when they realized how pathetically out of shape they were. Maybe, right there in the stairwell, they made a pact to improve their lives. As a former fattie, I had moments like that. There is shame and guilt in not being able to climb 13 steps without become flushed and tired. Almost every set of steps I come to, I bound up two at a time.

Short version, you did not do bad, and quite possibly a good thing may have come of this.

All you did was encourage them to stay in their room and eat. It's not like they've never had to struggle with stairs before.

            Bump

Well, I'm going to agree with Mommie2Hottie. Shib gave them an opportunity to find a way out. Not enough introspection in the world...so here's their chance to think about how they're killing themselves.

            Best case: life-changing event
Worst case: they burned off 30 calories

Win-win. And I'm only half joking.

if i intentionally cut my feet off for fun, should i get special disability treatment? fuck no... if something is rationally self inflicted, it is not worthy of special treatment.

ok, I've been on both sides because of pregnancy... at the highest I was 169lbs (I'm only 5'2) and the pressure on your knees and joints is very painful and you are always out of breath...

now that I am 140, I'm still not in shape and this is the harddest weight to loose is these last 20 pounds. I try really hard and eat well and excercise hard and nothing, then I starve myself and excercise and nothing and I just give up... Im in the give up stage... lol, for me weight doesn't like to come off... my body seems to like being 140lbs. I know it sounds crazy, but this is what always goes on in my head... Usually I give up and eat regular and excercise and EVENTUALLY it comes off...

SO- I do feel bad for overweight people. But super-overweight, they can loose weight in an instant... because they are so far gone... but they don't want the stairs because of the pain and out-of-breath feeling... I'm sure of it.
