  • What do you want to be when you grow up?

This board seems to be a huge weight room. I can almost imagine you boys and girls grunting out reps on the machines, or trying not to drop the weights. As much time as we spend in the gym or on this board, there is still real life out there.

What do you do to earn your $$$$?

Paramedic, hope to be working on a flight rescue squad soon. For now I am working prehospital on the ambulance though. Forgot to mention, I am also a tactical medic too. I respond to other emergencies like terrorist emergencies and stuff like that too. Yes, I get to carry a big gun too. :D

Second job is a personal trainer. I don't have any college degrees as far as the trainer part goes though. Not sure how long I will stick with it. In fact, I am functioning as a trainer, but have not even completed the Cert yet. Amazingly, I haven't learned anything in the program yet.

I want to go back to school too, but not sure for what yet.

my line of work is so specific, you could narrow it down to about 20 people if i went into detail. i've worked a lot of different things, and took the time to find something i really enjoy and have finally found it. no complaints here!

It depends on the station you are working for. The hospital's medics work 8s or 12s, sometimes 16s. My station works a 16 and a 24 fr full timers. Most of the part timers do 8s, 12s and 16s. I am working part time at the moment, but, I will do a 24 every now and then. I am working about 24-30 hours a week and make up the rest of the time working at the gym. Longest shift I ever did was a 36. THAT kicked my ass.

Right now I work on the recieving dock of a warehouse, unloading trucks. When our youngest kids start school in the fall, I plan on returning to school as well and finishing my BS. I'm thinking about getting into Internal Auditing.

Wow, so guess you're not a lawyer. Do you train racoons to water ski? :D

I think it is so important for people to enjoy their jobs. Then it doesn't seem so much like work.

When I'm done with college, I'd like to be a laser physicist/engineer or something related to that.
