  • Looks like I might have IBS..

    Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Been feeling all bloated and uncomfortable off and on for awhile now. Feeling of not being empty even after I take a sh*t. Its annoying as hell and prevents you from doing alot!

So anyway, I called the doc today and he perscribed some med that controls the muscles in the colon area.

A point of interest to me is that I came off steroids almost 6 months ago now, and I have been having this problem for about 4 months. Im wondering if my daily food intake is not being absorbed and digested like it used to and that is what has caused this?

I should also point out that in the six months that I have been off steroids it has been very hard for me. The aches and pains that I have everyday are just terrable. I feel like shit everyday. Slight depression and just a lack of interest in everything. Lets just say that I cannot wait to go back on test in a few weeks. I forgot what its like to feel human..

I'll take some. lol I think I have had a minor version of that when my diet went to shit and I lost time to work out for a couple months. It always felt kind of tight on both sides of my lower to mid abdomin area.

I know what you mean to feel "human". I feel so much happier and energetic when I'm on.

Fiber is going to be your best friend. Alot of people suffer from IBS mainly because their diets. IBS is not totally understood, so the cause is not known. There are theories though. Fiber will just help to keep things moving properly and if you don't, things just don't want to work right and IBS kicks in.

If it gets severe, there is medication that helps too. I know of one person that uses the medication and his diet is shit. LOL

          Hey Bouncer,

I have been diagnosed with IBS for the last few years. However I went to a new doctor and there is a test called the "Lactulose Breath Test", it measures the bactieria in your small colon, which causes many problems. Many doctors tell patients they have IBS when just cannot figure out what is wrong. Well I had the test yesterday and the normal reading should be around "20", mine happens to be "136". So this causes very sever problems in the small intestines which can back all the way up to the stomach and cause heart burn. So next week I am following up with the doctor to get medicine such as antibiotics to clear it up. They are not sure what causes some people to create more bacteria in the colon than others. They say lots of food with carbs in them can be one reason such as pasta, breads etc.

Just a thought for you, could not hurt to the the test done to at least rule that out.

          I hope you fell better.

Bouncer, you might have parasites. Google colon cleansing and see what comes up.

I doubt that coming off cycle had anything to do with it...just coincidence.

I've had IBS and diverticulitis for a few years now. Sucks as I've got to avoid certain foods or else I pay dearly.

Water and soluable fiber will be beneficial to you. Probiotics are also a good idea to keep the right bacteria balance going on internally.

I have always eaten alot of fiber bro. The Doc thinks it might be due to stress.

Parasites? Like what kind of parasites? That sounds scary.

Also, I might sound stupid but what are Probiotics exactlly? Im willing to try anything at this point.

                  THanks for the help.

ive taken alot of fiber ever since i started getting those nasty stomach symptoms. It worked for a while till about last year. I added Metamucil for about 4 years now but last year i started noticing that it wasnt working for me anymore. Instead of just going once to the restroom, ive been there like as if i was constipated or even worst (sotf). I feel full with the fiber and non stop gas. It sucks cause I can't enjoy anything, not even go to places without my stomach hurting and having to come home.

I def believe that. There has been a huge increase in the amount of IBS cases in the last few years. Americans have been eating terrible for the last 30, so why the increase? Only one answer for that...

What aches and pains are you refering to bro? I know this isn't the topic of the thread but if you have to feel like you need to be on AS to feel human again, are you sure you're ready to get back on?

I know how hard it was for you to come off six months ago, I think you definitely don't want to fall into that hole again and not be able to come off. The depression and lack of interest in things could be from supressed test. levels, I think you should go to the doc and get him to check your test levels. If they're really low he may try to put you on test therapy or give you HCG. Anyhow, good luck with that and with the IBS.
