I went on one last year. 24 hour food, just not great food 24 hours. Dinner at night was good though and you can order as much as you want...I'd go through a travel agent so you have a person you can keep in contact with in case there are any problems. I'd try to find the best deal you could online and tell the travel agent what you find.

If it's Norwegian cruise lines then skip it and pick another. I went on one of their ships and it was full of old people and the food sucked, I actually lost a few lbs. that week.

They had a buffet that was like any normal buffet except it was larger. Their deserts looked good but I didn't eat them. There were some other places to eat on the ship but you had to make reservations a day or two in advance to eat at most of them and pay extra for them. We had reservations at the Italian place for our friend's birthday and we still had to wait over an hour for our table, the food was not anything special and we had ordered a surprise b-day cake and the wait staff screwed up and let the guy know his b-day cake was on it's way. The one really good place to eat on the ship was at the sushi place but again, there was an additional charge to eat there. We didn't do the "Captain's Dinner" thing because you had to be really dressed up, guys were in suits, women in evening gowns, and you have to share a table with a bunch of strangers and on our cruise, most of the other people were old and just not very enjoyable for some reason (normally I enjoy old people).

I'm not sure if this is standard for all cruise ships, but the pools and hot tubs were filled with salt water from the ocean instead of fresh water, so my eyes were burning every time I went in.

I also don't like having to plan in advance but on a cruise you have to if you want to participate in the excursions on land. You have to sign up for the excursions during the first day. A lot of the really good ones get filled up quick so you have to settle for something else (at least that was our experience on Norwegian). Some of them were really good but one we went on sucked and we were stuck there for the whole day because we had to wait for the shuttle back to the boat.

If you want to go somewhere fun outside of the US, Cancun is great for singles and not too expensive. There are some good places to go here in the US too, I live in Tampa, FL and wouldn't be board doing a vacation here by myself.

since we're on the subject of food and vacation i have to say that when i was in cancun last week i had all these coupons for big places over there that said "free meal and free drinks." well you did get a free meal but it couldn't keep a bird alive and you only got one free drink and to get a refill you had to pay 2 bucks. what a buncha shit. after a while i got sick of that shit and just went ahead and paid for a big ass meal.

Hitting Riviera Maya in 3 weeks. All inclusive, including 24 hour rom service and unlimited food all day long! Place has 7 restaurants too...Mex food, Asian, French, burger joint. Gonna eat my ass off. Awesome gym too.

My bro just invited me to South Beach...evidently this is the place to be. All his friends are down there working in clubs be it bar tending bouncing or just hanging out. Some girlfriends of his are hooked on COKE already within the first two weeks there...DAMN!

Apparently my bro told me most of the chicks you'll meet in a club there... won't ask you if you want a drink, rather if you want to do "lines" with them. I don't think I'm going...too $$$
